Pros:

Sheraton in Shanghai is amazing, breakfast various and very good. The room was big, comfortable and the swimming pool big and relaxing. Bring a swim cap, otherwise you will be charged 6.5 € for it (and it is really too much).
the hotel is in South Pudong, so far from the chaos of the city centre.
Personnel at the reception was fantastic, as long as gave us the room in the morning to rest a little bit after the intercontinental trip!
The metro was just 1 minute by walk.

Cons:

Everything perfect. hosts need to expect not to be in the city centre but in a served area, full of restaurants and a mall, but quiet and calm

The front desk staff don’t speak English very well; they don’t understand some questions or requests. When you ask for help with certain issues, room service might just hang up and ignore your question. They don’t help with luggage, even if they see that you’re alone and pregnant. They just stare at you while you struggle to drag a 32-kg suitcase. Alipay didn’t work at the front desk, so I had to pay with a credit card, which charged exorbitant fees for international cards. I ordered breakfast to my room, but they forgot half the order and didn’t bring it until 15 minutes later. Overall, I have mixed feelings about choosing this hotel. The only bright spot was the wonderful housekeeping staff—it was very clean. They were polite and cleaned quickly.

Convenient location besides the Metro. The room is great and the cleaning lady is super.

Cons:

The receptionists are not so friendly and don't smile much when dealing with customers. Should take a leaf from Singapore Airlines.

Not overly luxurious
Pros:

We stayed here in May 2026, attending a conference.

The hotel seems to have two main buildings and my room was in a poor one. The room had a wet carpet in places for some reason, a tiny window making it feel like a cell, a musty smell and then the power went out in my room only. No idea why.

Food at lunch was ok but the breakfast offering wasn't extensive and felt like being in a school canteen.

The location is a 20 minute taxi ride to the Bund.

I wouldn't choose to return to this hotel. I think there is better value elsewhere.
