as others have noted, very straight friendly. I took my Fam -- wife of several decades, son and 2 daughters. we had a fabulous time. neither the staff nor guests care a whit what your orientation is. all were absolutely courteous and a fun crew.

If you want any peace at all, do not stay here!!!

It’s loud, reeks of weed and overall feels unclean. Do not plan on falling asleep until after 3 am when the club below you closes but also, the toilet will run all night and people next door may try to enter your room repeatedly. If you’d like to shower, ignore the pink scum covering the shower head.

I like the boardwalk was across the street. Nightlife at hotel night club was great too. First time coming to Asbury Park NJ my vacation was great and will definitely being coming back in the future. Room was clean, everyday I was given new towels. I was a solo traveler it was very nice to have them do that. Great service all together nothing bad to report only good stuff. Please try it for yourself you will have a blast. Can't wait to come back in the future.

I just didn't. Understand the view & tv no microwave I paid $200 for 1 night not satisfied yes it was clean!!!! No refrigerator at first..... just not happy for the money I spent

This hotel is welcoming with a wonderful front desk staff! They kindly answered all of my questions before I arrived -- and were also very friendly at check-in. Room was ready early and it was very clean and comfortable. (Room had a small coffee maker and flat-screen TV). While there I had a small issue with my room, and maintenance came up right away and fixed the problem. This hotel is in a fantastic location -- right across the street from the beach and boardwalk. (And also across the street from the Stone Pony, so if you happen to be going to a show here, this is the place to stay!) If you're around on the weekend, the show on Friday night in the club is a lot of fun, too! Our only issue was balcony door was difficult to open, but weather wasn't great, so we did not use the balcony anyway.

Room itself was fine and clean. Amenities very lacking. WiFi password wasn’t working and the staff offered no help. Minimal channels on tv and some had no sound. Toilet paper was awful. If you want zero frills and a clean room, you’ll be happy.

The room is nice and has a balcony

The staff was extremely helpful and professional. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. Wonderful stay as always with Loews.

Stayed for a few days at the Empress with friends. We loved the pool and proximity to boardwalk. Front desk was very helpful. Will stay here again.

This hotel is a bit dated and could do with a facelift. It is a pool party hotel which I knew when I booked as I had stayed there before, so ask for a front room at opposite end of the hotel if that would bother you. Take an extension lead as the electric sockets are not located easily. The main lamp lamp didn't work, and the AC was too noisy to run during the night.
Continental breakfast only available at weekends which was a shame as it was quite nice.
The shower was hot and powerful
The staff are helpful and friendly and it's so conveniently located for the beach, boardwalk and all the bars and restaurants are within walking distance.
