Plaza Grande Hotel

Beautiful classic hotel in a perfect location in the old city. Exceptional service ( thank you Luis). Greeted with a welcome drink. Staff go out of their way to ensure your every need is met with a greeting and a smile. We travel a lot and this has to one of our favourite hotels.

Style, location, service - all top level!

Great hotel in the center of historic old town. The rooms are spacious and very well accommodated but the staff here went above and beyond. Luis Alberto and Mauricio always greeted me with a smile and were extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to any guest.

We were spoiled by Luis, he made sure every moment of our stay was taken care of and had wonderful tips and local experiences for us to partake in. The hotel is very nice and the restaurant was very good too (the potato soup and goat stew were incredible. We truly enjoyed our stay!!

We chose Hotel Plaza Grande for our first trip to Quito because of the location and the atmosphere.
Upon arrival, we realized that the hotel is much more.
From the man in a tailcoat and top hat who opened the door, through the extremely hospitable receptionist to the moment we entered the room, everything was perfect. No exaggeration.
The hotel, in an early 20th century style but with all the modern improvements, perfectly hidden in the interior, offers comfort, care and peace. So rare these days, and I travel a lot and can appreciate it.
Taking care of the guest, for everything you might need, is the focus of Plaza Grande and their team. Every member of the team - reception, restaurant, room maintenance - exceptional service.
We would like to thank Luis Alberto in particular - for his care, for his wonderful Bulgarian (yes, we were greeted in our native language!) and for his attitude.
The hotel is in the best location for walking to all the sights of the old city. Excellent starting point and only a few minutes by taxi to those places you would also like to see.
The restaurant offers the best food we tried in Quito.
We recommend Plaza Grande for any occasion, but it should be your first choice if you want to experience the pleasure of being taken care of.

Wonderful hotel with top notch service - we felt like kings and queens. Great location in the Plaza Grande town center, walkable to key sites. Large oversized suite with plenty of room to stretch out. Would definitely stay again!

Old world elegance

The hotel was beautiful, very clean, spacious and centrally located to walk to most attractions. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We loved our stay!

My family and I had an amazing stay at this hotel. From the time we arrived to when we left we were treated so well. All the employees were helpful and friendly. However, Luis went above and beyond the whole time. He welcomed us with such a warm attitude and made sure we felt comfortable the entire time. Our first morning he gave us a letter that listed 5-6 of the most beautiful cathedrals in Quito with pictures and descriptions. Every time we saw him, he had a smile and greeted us with so much enthusiasm. He always answered all our questions. So I want to thank him especially for making our first visit to Quito so wonderful and welcoming us to this beautiful country. He really made us feel like we were at home!

I cannot recommend this hotel enough!! Luis and Leonardo could not have been more helpful. They made our visit. They always made sure we were safe, comfortable and they always had a happy personality. When I come back, I will be staying with them!

This was definitely one of my all time favorite places to stay! I have truly fallen in love with the city of Quito and the wonderful people here! This hotel is so beautiful and the location is perfect for walking to churches, restaurants and shops. The staff are amazing and we felt so well taken care of! Luis and Leonardo are charming and they were so helpful to us during our visit. I definitely recommend coming to Quito and staying in the Hotel Plaza Grande!

The Plaza Grande is a stellar hotel and the staff are so helpful and friendly. Luis Alberto, Leonardo, and Alexander went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us to enjoy our stay in Quito. Luis even printed a lovely 4 page information packet with pictures to help us learn about and find many of the beautiful churches within walking distance of the hotel. Highly recommended!! We plan to return!

Old world charm with helpful friendly staff

Plaza Grande Hotel is an absolute gem. The food and service were excellent from start to finish. The concierge went above and beyond—arranging seamless transportation to and from the airport and accommodating every request with genuine warmth and friendliness. The staff made us feel truly cared for, not just “checked in.”
And a must: don’t leave without trying the ice cream—it’s unexpectedly incredible
