I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Sandra, Travis and Angel as they made my stay a very pleasant one. Their professionalism, warm attitude and genuine hospitality truly stood out. Travis and Sandra in particular deserve special recognition for their hard work and great respect to the guests. Both of them always had a smile including Angel. I hope they get some reward for making the guests feel welcome. All the best guys and see you soon.
The property seems a bit dated in some aspects. Great location. While making the the reservation there want mention of the daily parking rate.
Loved we can get starbucks on site
We felt very appreciative of the room we were given. We had a beautiful harbor front view. The staff personalized our stay with a treat and a handwritten card for the birthday we were celebrating.
Room was clean.
There was carpet in the room - which could have been an oversight on my end when I booked.
While the breakfast was good - I was taken aback when I was charged extra for orange juice - as the "included breakfast" only accounted for one beverage per person. As a seasoned traveler, I have never needed to pay on top of an "included breakfast". Finally, I would like to note that The Marriot makes you pay for the Visa processing fees and adds a Marketing Levy. These were NOT disclosed in the price.
The good: Beds, location, overall comfort
The not so good: housekeeping only provided every two days. Not informed at check in, told it was on their websiite, not there when I checked. Did not get housekeeping even on day 2, no reason given.
The bad: renovations going on at brewery next door. Loud, noisy trucks starting at 6 am every day. Their windows provide NO soundproofing. Hear every voice that goes past your room from the driveway below.
Friendly staff throughout our stay. Onsite parking. Convenient cafe in lobby. Large bedroom & Living room area.
better attention to room conveniences. broken items not fixed when requested. No closet or wardrobe in the bedroom for hanging clothes, not even a hook on the back of the door. Toilet not affixed securely to the tile floor and had a loud rocking noise. Very small entry closed with broken bracket for hanging coats. Hide-a-bed sofa terribly uncomfortable and cumbersome to open and close. The sheets were too small to fit the box which wasn't even a proper mattress. The wet bar was nice with granite top and sink and there was a small fridge and microwave but no cups, cutlery plates, dish cloth, etc to make use of the bar area. The coffee maker was terrible and only paper cups provided. Constant mega truck traffic from the Halifax dock rumbling through starting at 5am each morning and a huge office tower under construction next door to our room. Not at all a peaceful stay. The things you don't know until you are already there to check in!!
Good location
Beds were uncomfortable, staff was dismissive, loud traffic noise, rats in the lobby
The property is very modern, staff were fantastic and all was very clean.
The rooms are very dated though and could do with a makeover clean but dated.
There is nothing to complain about just a bit of modernization and pile not go a miss in the rooms
The bed was nice
I called twice beforehand to ask about the security deposit amount. Front desk told me $20 a night. We stayed one night, and the front desk charged us a security deposit of $400. Told us it was non negotiable. The bathrooms are completely outdated.
Fantastic location, central to everything downtown.
Was really pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find Chocolate strawberries and a Birthday card waiting for me in our room.A lovely touch!Thank you!
Great location. Lovely and helpful staff. Clean rooms. Grateful for the water station!
Random and doesn't speak to the hotel as a whole, but our towel rack fell off the wall when we went for a towel. It didnt appear to be fully screwed into the wall.
The staff and atmosphere were incredible. It wasn't too busy either so it felt like a personal touch when we got to interact. LOVE that the parking is attached and heated! The staff went above when they found out we were having a makeshift honeymoon, sent a beautiful card and chocolate covered strawberries💜
The hot tub jets didn't work very well unfortunately. The placement of some thing in the room didn't make sense. We had to move the TV so when we did watch some shows the screen wasn't half cut off from the bed.
