5 Star for excellence in customer service
Pros:

5 star for excellence in customer service. The hotel lost power due to an accident, front desk staff were so helpful with realistic estimates for power being restored and allowing for refunds if we chose to transfer to another hotel. I'll absolutely stay here again next time in Gainesville. Property was clean and conveniently located

Just odd… digitally checked in night before our two night stay- we did not receive notification that our room was ready - went to check in at 6 in the evening and was told that room was not ready but they gave us a similar room- I asked why the option was even given if the room was not available and he said “well I’m checking you in now”- weird weird vibe and we had to swipe our card which is also odd since we are longtime Diamond members and our credit card is on file-made us a little bit suspicious as to why we had to physically swipe our card, which is something we’ve never had to do at a Hilton property before!! no coffee in our room and the ice machine on our floor was broken-breakfast was a joke-last Hilton we stayed at made us a couple breakfast sandwiches to go even though they weren’t on the menu so we could use our food and beverage credit but the lady at this place said sorry that’s not on my menu!! Got two bagels for 7 bucks apiece and I asked her what I could get to use up my credit and she said nothing!! LOL!! overall staff, not friendly at all at this property-we definitely will not stay again

I booked our room via the Hilton Honors App. We arrived in our room and it looked very worn. The bedding needed to be updated. The HVAC unit cover fell off during the night. We were sitting in our room and someone walked right in!! The front clerk had given the room to someone else after checking us in to the room. Today I discovered we ere double charged for the room. I called the front desk and the clerk was not helpful at all. I called the customer service number and it was hard to understand the person that was trying to help me. I finally called my credit card company to dispute the charge. We will never stay at a Hilton Garden Inn again!!

Three Strikes and they are OUT!
Pros:

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing almost from the moment we arrived. Although check-in is stated as 4:00 PM (which was also the time we selected), our room was not ready when we arrived at 4:45. When I inquired about the delay, I was not informed that we had been reassigned to a different room—information that would have been both relevant and helpful.
I had carefully selected a room based on my Hilton Honors profile preferences, which clearly note a preference for higher floors and rooms away from elevators and ice machines. Instead, we were placed on the second floor, directly adjacent to both the elevators and the ice machine—essentially the opposite of what was requested.
The room itself proved unlivable for any meaningful length of time. During our brief 1.5-hour stay, we endured constant and excessive noise from an antiquated HVAC system, loudly announcing elevators stopping on multiple floors, and a dog barking continuously for over an hour with increasing distress. It was not a restful environment by any measure.
We ultimately chose to leave, as staying the night was simply not feasible. I have stayed at many Hilton properties over the years and rely on brand consistency and the Honors program to enhance the guest experience. This stay fell well short of those expectations.
Our stay at the Springhill Suites was excellent!

Greetings!
Firstly, I am a quadriplegic and my wife and I have found Hampton Inn to be the most consistent handicap friendly hotel. Last week we had an appointment at Shands hospital in Gainesville Florida. The Hampton did not have a handicap room available so we booked Garden Inn. Being handicapped it takes us a lot of extra equipment to be able to take showers etc. Our son was with us this trip because my wife is weak from an autoimmune. We got everything to the room and unpacked and assembled the shower chair, bed rail etc when my son noticed a pile of dog poop on the carpet. I called the desk and he reported back there was no housekeeping available - he moved us to another room. Easier said than done for us. To pack up, move and unpack is a lot of effort. In that room unfortunately the bed was at least 6” higher than my chair. We use a transfer board and in the morning after my shower my wife was too weak to make that work. Fortunately my son was there and came to the rescue. He reported to us that his AC didn’t work in his room PLUS we saw another big stain on the carpet. All in all a very unpleasant experience. We won’t be going there again! Btw, I can send pics if you’d like. I contacted Hilton as a courtesy before posting this and no reply!

Rooms were clean. Staff were very friendly. Great location, next to a shopping center.

Cons:

The cost of the breakfast-12.95.
I don’t eat a big breakfast, would like to have been able to purchase toast and or bowl
of cereal at a must lower price.

Hilton Garden Inn, home away from home.
Pros:

I don’t know how to even start by making this review as I’m already emotional. My daughter gave birth to her baby girl at Shands Hospital, we didn’t expect to have an emergency. My precious granddaughter ended up in the Nicu. Since we do not live local, after my daughter’s discharge we started hotel hopping in order to be close to her. The Hilton Garden Inn in Gainesville was our third hotel we stayed at and by far the best in town. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the most amazing check in. Please know that James was God sent. He embodies the Hilton standards with passion and pride. His gentle tone and concern for my granddaughter was daily. He obviously is genuine and runs the front desk smoothly and efficiently. There wasn’t a day without us being greeted, not a day without asking if we needed anything to just call the front desk. This experience couldn’t have been felt any more of a home feel we needed. Lastly I will also say that everyone else working there took an amazing pride in hospitality. James we absolutely thank you. We will never forget you.

This kind of excellent customer service is rare these days
Pros:

I was there at this Hilton location not as a guest, but in order to attend a training, and the staff there could not have been more attentive and helpful. They went out of there way to accommodate me in every way they could, and they did so with a very polite and cheerful demeanor, something you see rarely these days. They actually looked happy to say "How can I help you". And this means, specifically: Tre' Van, Daniella and Jacob. If you see them, you know that you are in for a good hotel experience. Their supervisor, Sunita, also shared their upbeat and positive disposition. I really recommend this place for the service you will get.
