Faros Hotel Old City - Special Class

Great location…great hotel…

Location of the hotel is excellent, with walking distance for some of the top Istanbul attractions - Topkapi, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazar etc.
Tram station is 50m from the hotel which is also very convenient. Plenty of restaurants nearby.

Hotel staff are very kind and helpful. Would stay in the same Hotel again.

The Faros staff were all incredibly polite, accommodating and helpful. Very nice people. Location was excellent, right on the tram line and walking distance to the major historic sites I would definitely stay here again.

great to be recognised as elite and checked in at 11am. clean comfy room but bathroom tap sprayed water over everything and everyone when turned on full! good wifi, lots of English language programmes on tv, fridge and free water + coffee making but no milk (luckily brought my own!). terrific brekky buffet with everything you could think

My balcony room was generous and very clean. The onsite restaurant was absolutely delicious, elegant and convenient. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Faros and my overall experience was nothing short of exceptional. The staff at Faros surpassed expectations with their warm hospitality and attentiveness. Every request was handled promptly, and their genuine dedication to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay.
Hotel is centrally located and is 5 to 10 minutes walk from Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Topkapi Museum two minutes from the Sultanahmet tram station.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a blend of luxury, convenience, and impeccable service during their stay.

Stayed at the Faros in early October 2023 for a four night break. Really lovely staff and excellent location for major sights - easily walkable or tram stop very near by.

Note: poor access by taxi if that is your preferred mode of transport as area is mostly pedestrianised. Not a problem if on foot or using the well priced and convenient tram. I used the coach from the IST airport to Aksaray (136 TL or about £4 each way) then walked the mile or so to the hotel. Could have used tram if I had bought an Istanbulkart but couldn't find a machine at the airport).

Breakfast was good from the continental buffet, but you had to ask for tea or coffee.

The restaurant had nice food at tourist rate prices.

The only problems I encountered were noise and music at night until the early hours (restaurants at street level directly below). Also, I had booked a standard double room through Expedia but was given only a tiny single (room 106) with no other rooms available. The aircon failed after the second night.

I'd definitely stay here again if I could guarantee getting the room I had paid for.

We spend seven nights and booked two rooms, one for my siblings and mother and one for myself. The service was excellent. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Overall location is amazing and would definitely staff again.
