Excellent breakfast. Lovely walks available in grounds.
Bed not the most comfortable.
It was a beutiful room, well laid out and good proportions.
No room service available. There were people in the adjacent room that that were extremely noisy. the room was also unbearably hot (due to the extreme weather conditions at the time) Could do with airconditioning.
The buildings were incredible, and the fountain. Can see why this place is popular with weddings. Very nicely furnished, the room was spacious. Felt very peaceful being in the country. Staff friendly and helpful. Great they had a really nice size indoor pool, especially as the weather was so hot over bank holiday . My husband really enjoyed the pizza at the bar, he wished he’d ordered a whole one to himself.
Breakfast was basic, there wasn’t any avocados and no honey
Set in well maintained parkland with comfortable rooms and excellent staff who could not have been more helpful. Very good choice of food at the buffet breakfast.
My husband has limited walking ability, so found the distance from the room to the main facilities testing. It would have been helpful to book directly with the hotel. But the tel.no on the website did not work. There appears to be no disabled parking space near the main entrance to The Towers.
De Vere is a beautiful and picturesque setting. My wife woke up to horses in a field in front of our room so she was very happy. Breakfast was excellent but slow. The hotel is the location. We weren't going anywhere but could've spent the day in the grounds.
No air con on one of the hottest days didn't help but although it was hot, it was not stifling. Hot food prep shortages meant my wife and I eating our food at separate times. I even took food without eggs and sausages and returned for them because of the wait.
Good breakfast. Room comfy. Nice location
Unable to explore towers due to weddings and private events.
The staff was very very friendly and helpful. Braekfast was very good however the continental part could have had more choice as well as the limited types of bread.
There was no toilet brush and no fridge/ mini bar in the room. We were also told that our room will have a bath which was not the case when we arrived.
The accommodation was clean, comfortable and beautiful surroundings.
The staff were 1st class friendly, polite and helpful. And the breakfast was one of the best ive ever had in a hotel. Excellent around. Would highly recommend.
My only regret was i booked to stay in the old building, the towers. But no lift and we was on second floor, i did know this before hand but we picked the hottest weekend so far this year and it was tiring keep climbing stairs. They offered to change our room, but was booked up. And all the amenities were in the new building. All of it was beautiful if you want to be near pool, bar, restaurant definitely the newer building. If you want luxury old and peaceful the towers.
So many things to like about De Vere estate horsley location, staff, grounds, food had a truly lovely stay and are now looking at the other De Vere locations for our next short stay.
Grounds, food, staff, swimming pool ease of parking lots of little nooks to have a coffee
Good breakfast and comfortable bed
Hot bedroom , no aircon and struggled to open a window .
Shower needed repairing before safe to use
A long walk from carpark to room
Grounds were superb. Good to have breakfast included and very good breakfast too. Also good to have tea coffee water snack available.
The sheer beauty of the estate and grounds were lovely. The village and local pub were great
Tiny little rooms with no air conditioning
Great location, lovely room and great facilities
The staff lacked organisation, felt like the younger staff weren’t managed well
the view castle and horses
Delayed checkin less halal options and no aircon
Location was perfect, hotel was clean and tidy and staff friendly.
N/A
The location with the castle and park was very impressive.
Easy check in, brasserie atmosphere and food was good
Size if the room was reasonable, bed was comfortable
We had a double room. Everything was highly outdated. Worn carpet, bathroom taps and sink looked very old. 2 separate taps so no mixing of searing hot water and cold water.
The handle of the toiletflush was jammed against the wall so it took really some effort to get it to flush.
