The view from our balcony was stunning, and listening to the waves from there was dreamy!
Great location.
Art deco vibe, bright clean suite, comfortable bed with good linen, nice pool deck, direct view of ocean from room balcony. Free secure parking.
If you are going to use the kitchenette to cook for yourself it’s a fair way to get provisions. The onsite restaurant is ok, though.
Clean & comfortable, friendly staff and great location.
Very Nice clean room, with a great view
nothing
Staff very friendly and helpful!
Breakfast was a bit hit and miss.. but nothing terrible…
5 excellent stuff good service clean facilities enjoyed by stay
We had a one bedroomed apartment overlooking the pool and the sea. Views were amazing and the hotel itself was lovely. Very clean and well equipped, comfortable bed, good air conditioning and really lovely staff who were all incredibly friendly and helpful. This hotel is in the centre of St Lawrence Gap but peaceful at night. Very comfy sun loungers and good range of drinks and food but easy walking distance to other bars and restaurants. We would love to stay here again.
This hotel is wonderful. Newly renovated rooms, the bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows, well equipped kitchenette, walk-in shower, beautiful view from the balcony.
The staff in every department were wonderful, helpful, friendly.
We ate food in the restaurant, the choice is wide. Everything we chose was super, couldn't possibly complain. There is 2 Happy Hours per day, great choice of drinks at the bar available. Restaurant/bar staff were friendly, knowledgeable about the island. We booked trips through the reception staff, they were helpful and we went out for the day, everything we needed was ready for us on our return.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, the only fly in the ointment is that it is maybe not recommended if you have mobility issues, there is no lift.
This is a lovely, renovated hotel at a great price point in the Gap. It’s close to bars and restaurants but we were never bothered at night with loud noise.
Our room was a one bedroom suite with a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. It really is a fantastic view. As other reviewers have stated, the room is modern and spotlessly clean with a kitchen area including fridge, microwave and stove.
While we enjoyed the twice daily 2-1 happy hours, we did not eat at the hotel but the dining/bar area had the same lovely view of the ocean as the rooms.
The only thing to note that may be an issue for some, is that there are no elevators. Thankfully, staff hauled our bags to and from the room.
I must comment on how we found the staff to be welcoming, kind and helpful. It was one of those landmark birthdays for my sister and the room was set up with balloons, a card and wine. Much appreciated.
This is an excellent choice to stay in the Gap and I would definitely choose this hotel on a future visit.
Excellent location.
Rooms look out over the sea. Beautiful rooms with a galley mini kitchen with sink, microwave, full fridge freezer, hotplate, kettle, toaster, coffee maker. The usual kitchenware with washing up facilities. All exceptionally clean and ready to use.
The bathroom was lovely with lovely accompaniments such as hand wash, lotion, shampoo and shower gel. Excellent shower and never had any issues with hot water supply.
The bedroom was amply kitted out with air con/safe wardrobes, bedside cabinets and additional drawers/dressers. Wonderful double doors that open up on to the sea front view where you could watch the sunsets.
The rooms were kept immaculate and the maids could not do enough for you.
You are given a 10% off voucher for the restaurant and a free drink voucher when you check in. The free drink gets you a rum punch or juice. The 10% voucher turns out was only valid on evening meals only.
We ate 4 times in the stay. All breakfasts. The food was good however the time for service was dismal. The average time to receive food was an hour. One day we were the only people down, watched 5 other groups of people come down get their food served and when I asked where our food was, we were informed there had been a delay putting our order in. It took an hour and a half before our food came. This was also after watching the staff on their phones. Overall 2 hours for breakfast. It also cost me further £500gbp or 1350 Barbadian dollars because by this point I had missed a designated log in time for another online examination. Where no food /drink or interruptions are allowed and are 3hours long, I’d already been up at 4.45am to sit the 1st exam.
And quite frankly I’m not waiting an hour to an hour and a half for food. I’d sooner go elsewhere. It’s all good and well saying Barbadian time, but I don’t want to spend hours waiting for food in a restaurant. I want to be out enjoying the island.
We will return to the island and probably would stay at the hotel again, but will probably either provide our own food or eat elsewhere for this reason.
The sunbeds were also hogged by people putting towels down and disappearing for half the day.
Excellent well serviced rooms and good facilities
Nothing all good
Our main guy behind the bar, we was told supervisor, thank you for great service. We stayed 11days just before Xmas return to uk.
Would I stay again NO, service really poor at breakfast, items forgotten, then minutes late rest of breakfast cold. This is early with 3 tables in. One waiter in particular poor. He doesn’t write orders down. To cocky to write. The location is ok. Nothing going on only a happy hour.
We was not on breakfast included. We paid from main menu, 50 plus every day I can say, not one morning in 8 out of 11 days was it right. Basics not right sorry. Great view, ok housekeeper.
We stayed here for 1 week to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Having previously stayed at The Rostrevor and Yellow Bird hotels, South Gap was certainly on a par and possibly the best out of the three. Breakfast was good, especially the spicy Bloody Marys.and nothing was too much trouble for reception and room servicing.
If your choice of resort is St Lawrence Gap, then would highly recommend this hotel.
We recently spent 9 nights at the South Gap Hotel. It was a calm and pleasant experience that worked well for our needs in Barbados.
The Highlights
• Housekeeping: The housekeeping staff were great—very friendly and consistent with their work.
• Sunsets & Pool: The hotel offers some nice sunset views from the property. The pool area is also a pleasant, quiet place to spend time. There are occasionally some loud guests, but the nights were quiet.
• Room Features: The bed was comfortable, and we found the kitchenette to be quite well-equipped for making e.g. breakfast.
• Convenient Location: It’s in a good spot with many restaurants within walking distance. While there isn't a beach directly on-site, a nice beach is just a short walk away.
Points for Improvement
• Shade Access: I prefer to stay in the shade, and I found that the parasols at the pool weren't quite sufficient for that. As a result, we spent a significant amount of our time relaxing on our patio instead.
• Room Condition: The room was slightly dated with some minor maintenance needed, though it was kept clean.
Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a quiet stay in a central location.
We enjoyed a ten night stay at this wonderful little hotel on The Gap. From start to finish we could not fault it. The reception staff are so helpful always greeted with a smile. The bar staff were attentive , the house keeping and maintenance staff were outstanding everyone went above and beyond to ensure the hotel looked beautifully clean at all times. It’s in a great location not too many rooms, ours was a suite which gave us a sofa bed ideal as our son joined us for a surprise 7 night stay. Great views from the balcony and from the deck area ideal to watch the sunsets. The food was excellent and the cocktails, there are two happy hours !. On the whole we could not fault it . We will definitely make a return trip our daughter is already planning to book.
Really nice boutique hotel, centrally located in St Lawrence Gap.
