It was clean, bed was comfortable, and staff was friendly.
I didn't want to submit this complaint in the moment because I was very frustrated and didn't want to be rude to whoever had the displeasure to speak to me at the time.
6 years ago I proposed to wife while we were at this resort to celebrate the 4 year anniversary of our relationship. We decided to return to celebrate our 5 year marriage anniversary and to enjoy some alone time as our "baby moon", as we are 36 weeks pregnant with our first child.
We opted for in-room dining as we decided it would be more intimate and would not require a long walk for my wife, and both nights our order was wrong and was delivered cold. The first night it was disappointing, but we're not usually ones to complain, so we kept to ourselves and ate what we could anyway. (My wife's grilled tacos had pineapple on them, which was not mentioned on the menu and my wife is allergic to them, and I ordered the "Tavern Burger - well done" and received a plain hamburger that was undercooked)
The second night, we were going to go out to dinner, but my wife was exhausted after her spa treatment (where we spent another $700+), so we decided to again order from the in-room dining menu as she wasn’t up to traveling somewhere for dinner. I tried my hand at ordering the "Tavern Burger" from the in-room dining menu again because I was looking forward to what I ordered the first night but receive incorrectly. This time I read what is meant to be on the burger directly from the in-room dining menu to confirm that I would receive the correct order; to which the person taking my order said, "yes, that is what comes on the 'Tavern Burger'", only for it to be delivered as a plain, undercooked hamburger AGAIN. (My wife's salmon was good though).
To say the least, after spending close to $2,000 to celebrate our anniversary and baby moon, on what we expected to be a very nice experience at a high class resort, both meals were ruined.
Beautiful property and the staff are extremely friendly. I extended my stay long for a late check out.
Nothing
Beautiful. Charming
This is a very special hotel. We had been staying there many times since the place was bought by OMNI. It was always fantastic and luxurious. Rooms, pools, long halls everything full of history. Walking through different areas of the hotel feels like walking through the museum. Don’t miss the guided history tour it will give you greater appreciation for the hotels incredible past. it’s not a place to sleep it’s amazing experience.. Walking trails, fire pit at night, multiple activities… and exceptional hospitality!
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping was prompt.
Self parking was awkward. The layout of the hotel is awkward but characteristic of the era it was built.
Food in the Crystal Dining Room was convenient and great!
No paper cups in my room!
I like that the staff was very friendly
I didn't like that there was no map to tell us ...you are here this is where items are this is where the archery and other items was located , Tillie's restaurant, 4th floor elevator when we left we ended up walking completely around the building to get to our car because we didn't see anybody to ask and we couldn't find the elevator to get to the 4th floor. All in all comparing to other hotels it was fine. Would I be back or recommended probably not. The drive wasn't bad but it's 20 miles off the interstate and if we would have ran out of gas or needed help there's literally no stores close by. $600 for a place to sleep and no wow factors isn't for us.
The location and the history and the spa
The rooms are in need of a renovation and a deep cleaning , staff needs more training especially in restaurants, for the prices the service didn’t match
Upscale and extremely well-kept. The staff were remarkable!! One of the few places left that you can go and feel completely safe.
Nothing!!
Clean and great staff
For the price we paid for a king bed room there were several deficiencies. Only one robe for two adults. Half full body washes, an uncomfortable shower head, hard to figure out and use coffee maker, only one wash cloth and a tissue box with only four tissues left with no replacement box available.
