I have been using this hotel for over two years due to my commute & working locally.
It is located around 10 minutes walk from the town centre on the London road as well as 10 minutes from the M1 motorway.
Equally the airport is around 15 minutes maximum depending on traffic.
Two national rail stations are also accessible within 15 minutes walking time.
A reasonably quiet area although well equipped with local shops & a petrol station across the road
The hotel itself is run by a young couple who are very pleasant to deal with & as a family business.
It is kept very clean, euipped with coded locks which are personaliseeld to the customer for the duration of the stay.
A quiet hotel with only 22 rooms & primarily uses by commuters who work in the Luton & Dunstable area
Although they no longer provide catering post the pandemic there are plenty of places around & the breakfast room is equipped with a microwave & small fridge.
The photos attached will give you some idea of the high quality of the property.
We had work being done and had stay local in luton and were pleasantly suprised with the hotel. Its a very simple hotel nothing fancy bedding was clean and bathroom was clean. We stayed for 10 days whilst out work was done in oue house.
Another couple of nights in Luton and although it’s been a while I decided to stay at the Stockwood. I was relieved to see it’s still operated by the same people. Booking was easy. This time there are codes to get in but this was straightforward and communication was fast and efficient. Room was clean and comfortable. Crisp sheets and immaculate en-suite are a must for me. I slept very well. Housekeeping was polite and accommodating. All in a decent uneventful stay. Would highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.
Nice, clean and pleasant place. 5 min away from airport and very affordable price. Great communication through texts and calls as its self check in. Smooth and easy check in. Will definitely use it again
Bed bugs! Bed bugs! Bed bugs!
NEVER GO TO THIS HOTEL!
We had nightmare stay in this "hotel", got eaten by bed bugs all over the body! Everything is dirty inside and disgusting!
The heating works for 10 minutes and stops, to save electricity!
Owner is impudent. And when we speak about the bed bugs, he called us scammers!
I had bed bugs in my bed and had to switch rooms
Bits broken in room only good things were size of room, bed and the tv
The bed was not clean the shower didn not work the staff caused a argument as shower wont work didnt offer me another room place is due me a full refund or ill go back and take it from his wallet when he gose to the shop
Property was very average but clean, near busy road noise
it's a low cost place and is starting to look tired. The skylight window in my room had a rotting window and the room in general needed some attention. The hotel itself is on a busy road and the parking is quite limited. I think paying an extra £10 and going somewhere else would have been worth it.
The place is very tired and a great deal of refurbishment is required - rotten window frames, paint in poor condition. Parking is limited. The hotel is noisy as is the area.
The room wasn't serviced in the 2 days I was there.
I wouldn't go back and would rather pay a little more elsewhere.
The hotel is tired however it was super clean, warm and had plenty of hot water so a great stay prior to our flight.
The room was plenty for the two of us, the washroom was very clean and well kept. Great shower!
Not an issue for us but for anyone that needs to use a Lift to get to upper floors this place doesn’t have as it’s only Stairs. Just a heads up.
Also there was a strong cigarette smell in the hallways.
Other that that it suited our needs for the 2 nights we stayed there.
Thank you!
Where to begin...
As a result of a cancelled flight, we noticed this hotel through the Easyjet Portal.
Assuming it to be of an acceptable standard and a stroll away from town we selected it as suitable venue for the one evening.
I won't dwell on the access steps or the 'private check-in' (spiritual voice) system.
The most significant issue here is the filthy mattress and bedding.
It's the hotel from hell....stale smelling pillow and all enveloping staining on mattress, pillow and cover.
Neither of us were prepared to sleep anywhere than on top of the bed using jackets for warmth of a kind.
Please see photographs of the filth this proprietor offers and expects to be rewarded.
We decided not to complain as we'd had a long day and dreaded 2 or 3 hours of verbal ping-pong.
Simpler to suck it up, lay on, and not in the bed and get the hxxl out at first light.
Unless the proprietor resolves the filthy bedding, dont stay here...
The housekeeping staff talk rude and when y ask about hiter why not working the answers it was why you just not live??!! I am happy if you live! .i am very disappointed! 67 pound i can pay in every nice hotel in this areas! But i choose wrong!
The room was in attic with sloping ceiling and bed was not comfortable
Unfortunately previous occupants were smokers It stunk (not owners fault) Consequently window open so freezing Rest ok
Room was next to a busy road so had lots of traffic noise and also planes flying from Luton airport. Would suggest some sort of noise cancelling for a restful sleep. Car parking is ok. Also, was told that I would receive the hotel VAT receipt via email but never received it inspite of numerous calls to the hotel.
A great place to stay
Hotel advertised with restuarant and bar lounge .. neither only a a4 paper saying kitchen for rent !!!
Not so much a hotel as a block of rooms with a faceless system of access doors.
