Very disappointing, definetly not a 5 star hotel
Pros:

Nothing !

Cons:

I wonder who rated this 5 star !!!
Entrance way from carpark , shabby and carpets smelly and worn .
Seems to be air fresheners everywhere to mask a stale smell .
I had booked 2 rooms .. one was in the main house and the other in another building so the family were split !
We had an upgraded room
Apparently ..
Toilet roll holder hanging off the wall .
Sealant around the sink hanging off .
Room dark with very little overhead lighting .
No air con but 2 cheap fans put in the room .
Absolutely overpriced for this standard of hotel .. I’ve stayed in clean budget hotels and 5 star but never one like this no way should this be classed as a luxurious 5 star hotel .,
If I could have found another hotel last night I wouldn’t have stayed here.
I understand what is luxury to one person may not be to another but this hotel
Is truly a 3 star at most !!
A lovely couple of days celebrating was ruined by choosing to stay here ..I shall be more wary and look
At different site reviews when booking again .

Lovely stay, Staff go above and beyond at every opportunity.
Pros:

Great Location, close to the railway station and directly opposite Forbury gardens. Lovely rooms, clean and very comfortable. air conditioning was so welcome, whilst the thermostat topped 33 degrees outside, we stayed cool and comfortable.
The staff are the best thing about The Roseate, all go above and beyond at any given opportunity. a special mention to the reception staff who were lovely and worked hard to accommodate us including our wish list for a future booking, and lastly but not least Martin, who even hopped in the car with us to direct us to the car park after we kept getting lost.

One of our rooms was the House studio (we highly recommend if you'd like some more space) it boasts a lounge area and a kitchen diner, with range topping appliances, fridge freezer, oven hob. Although it had all sorts of pans and utensils etc.

It did lack some other things that would have been really helpful, this is not a complaint, just some feedback for your consideration. We had wanted to warm up some bread and Camembert but there wasn't a baking tray or a board to cut the bread on, a cork screw and bottle opener would have been lovely and lastly, a dish cloth and soap to wipe the sides after use.

Breakfast, buffet style had a great choice and was delicious. we ate in the secret garden. All in all, a really good stay.

Reception staff need training
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

I didn’t realise I’d booked a room in an annex behind the hotel which is accessed through the back of the hotel, down some stairs through the car park and into another building which was a modern build. I would have preferred a room in the main part of the hotel which i had booked for the traditional look and featured in all the photos. No one at the entrance to help bring my bag up the stairs (and there was no ramp). The staff member on reception could benefit from training. She was not welcoming or helpful. Staff at breakfast were very good though.

Brilliant massage
Pros:

I am so relaxed today and slept so well last night.

Please pass on my thanks to the massage therapist, Csenge. She was very welcoming and has a lovely calming presence. I've never felt so relaxed during a massage and I almost fell asleep which is a first 😴

Dissappointing that my sister had more stress and pain when we left, than when we arrived
Pros:

Room comfort, size, cleanliness and decoration very good. Breakfast and staff were very nice but limited dinner menu.

Cons:

Lift was out of order, my sister walks with a stick with nerve and back problems. Our stay was advertised with Spa and with working lifts. I travelling from Switzerland to spend special time with her. A relaxating, stress free break was planned, but as we arrived we were told that the lifts had broken down a day beforeso stairs were the only acces to our rooms. We were not notified and given no choice to cancel the stay. Access to our rooms were 4 long flights of stairs and 6 flights of stairway to access the restaurant and a long walk to the Spa. With the pain of the stairs sister and i were left staying in our room in order to limit the pain she endured while tryinavigating the stairs with her walking stick, we were left staying in the room to help her recover. We were therefore unable to use the Spa. We were quite dissappointed with our stay. The included dinner menu was extremely limited.

Exceptional Stay at The Roseate & Aheli Spa
Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at The Roseate. Since I had already stayed here last year, it truly felt like “coming home.” The hotel’s location, the rooms, the food — everything was simply excellent. I was completely satisfied and happy throughout my stay.

I also had my first treatment at the Aheli Spa, and it was absolutely magical. I felt deeply relaxed and truly content both during and after the experience.

I will definitely be coming back and am already looking forward to my next visit! I can wholeheartedly recommend both The Roseate and the Aheli Spa. :)

Pros:

The building is like a giant old manor house or palace, classically styled and very upmarket, we went for the Executive suite which was very well priced, really large and did feel special. It had lovely dining area, a little office desk and chair, a sitting room area and of course a large bed which is more than you'd expect, sadly there was no AC but that particular room wasn't advertised with it so I wasn't upset and they provided a large fan that did the trick.

The hotel is located a 5-10min walk from Reading Highstreet and the Oracle shopping area so you'll have no issues finding food or drinks around.

Cons:

There is no dedicated parking at the property, and given the location this is likely a hotel most people will drive too. Parking in the area can get pricey for longer stays so be mindful of that.

The room needed some love, it wasn't terrible and overall the experience wasn't bad but some of the fixtures weren't working properly in the shower, the wood in the wardrobe was badly warped in placed and it just overall needed some TLC.

Kein Besuch mehr in diesem Hotel.
Pros:

---

Cons:

Zentrales Hotel in Reading, dringende Modernisierung nötig.
Pros:

Lage sehr gut, zentral.
Erhielt ein Upgrade, was sehr toll war.
Bequemes Bett. Grosses Zimmer.

Cons:

Das gesamte Hotel ist sehr düster und dunkel eingerichtet. Kaum Tageslicht. Der Lift war die gesamte Zeit defekt. Das Bad war eher schmuddelig und veraltet. Der Lavabo-Abfluss war andauernd verstopft. Nur eine Steckdose funktionierte. Frühstück mittelmässig, wenig Auswahl. Kaffee ungeniessbar. Speisen waren sehr überzuckert, kaum gesundes frisches Essen. Personal hatte Mühe mit Englisch.
