Awful experience

The staff was extremely attentive to us.

Excellent location close to all. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Beautiful. Breakfast was fresh .
The only issue was with the spa promotion. There is a credit for spa treatments upon arrival, which is nice . However the wording on the paper isn’t clear or correct on what spa service you need to have in order to get said credit. Upon check out the woman at the desk argued that it’s clear . Well it’s not.

Nos hospedamos en Magic Blue en Playa del Carmen y fue una excelente elección. El hotel es muy bonito, con un ambiente relajante y bien cuidado. Todo el personal fue súper amable desde el primer momento, siempre con una sonrisa y dispuestos a ayudar.

Mi esposa y yo tomamos unos masajes y la experiencia fue de 10. Yo elegí uno con tratamiento a base de aloe vera para el daño solar, y la verdad es que me salvó las vacaciones, me ayudó muchísimo con la recuperación de la piel después de pasar tanto tiempo al sol.

En resumen, excelente servicio, un lugar hermoso y una atención que marca la diferencia. Lo recomiendo totalmente y sin duda volveríamos.

The property need a little renovation the shower has to run for 10 minutes for hot water the breakfast is ok nothing Good over priced your paying for the area

I was very disappointed with our stay at Magic Blue Spa. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a comfortable experience from start to finish.

The A/C in the room was nice but the overall room itself was quite outdated. There were smashed mosquitoes on the walls from previous guests. There was visible black mold on the shower window, which was really concerning. The baseboards and walls are chipped and poorly sealed. Our room door also didn’t seal properly on the top, so mosquitoes got in overnight—I woke up each morning with multiple bites which was so frustrating.

The staff was friendly, but I found the towel policy ridiculous. We were only given two small face towels per person and nothing more than that. The towels were rough, thin, and non-absorbent.

Check-in wasn’t allowed until exactly 3 PM, which might not have been a big deal, but in the 95-degree heat, being handed room temperature water with no ice was just another letdown.

By the time check-out day came, I packed up as quickly as possible and made a quick exit. I couldn’t wait to leave. Overall, I expected much more from a 4 star hotel. This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience.

This was advertised as a luxury boutique motel. The only luxury was bathrobes hung in the bathroom. The faucets were all corroded and difficult to adjust the temperature. There were no night stands, just stained cloth covered benches. The remotes were dirty. The toilet seat wouldn’t stay up. The reception desk didn’t speak enough English to carry a good conversation. One day we were made to eat on the patio in the heat with no explanation why we couldn’t eat indoors like the rest of the time. The swimming pool was warm and not refreshing in 90+ degrees. The beds were comfortable and they had a great breakfast. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to give it a good rating.

We will absolutely stay here again! It’s a beautiful hidden oasis when you enter! I thought it might be noise upon arriving and seeing the location was centered in town..but once you enter the hotel, it’s as quiet and serene as could be! The staff of fabulous the pool is beautiful and the bar staff and drinks were A ..location for walking to restaurants and shopping can’t be beat!

It was a neat little spot with an amazing pool area. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful!

The pool and garden was gorgeous. Very walkable location. All waking distance. No need to take a taxi. Plenty of very good restaurants across. The spa was amazing too. The hammocks for each room were so much fun. I recommend very much.

Enjoyed the hospitality of this place. They are so friendly and caring. Truly felt welcomed.

Can’t get past the set in blood stained sheet on my bed ! Yuk ! Nothing I like better than sliding into bed with someone’s unknown DNA !

We had an absolutely fantastic time! All the staff were outstanding. The spa was absolutely fabulous. We are still talking about how great it was.

Small safe and clean

2nd time here. It’s a great price and really peaceful but close to all of the night spots restaurant and beach. Literally the perfect vacation

Lovely pool, quiet, very relaxing. Adjacent restaurant had a very nice breakfast. Staff very friendly.

Pros:
- staff are friendly and helpful
- good location
- good swimming pool area, although only half is in the sun

Cons:
- I've had large cockroaches in my room
- bathrooms are awful, very old and full of mold
- staff lost a towel when cleaning and asked me to pay a very high price (300MXN) to replace it. I suspect they did on purpose to make more money
- aircon has a relatively bad smell when it works
- warm water takes very long to pour
- wi-fi can drop sometimes
- mattress is old and bends in the middle
- the windows are not double glazed which means noises from the street and night clubs are not blocked and it's hard to sleep
- lighting in the room is pretty bad, the lights are strangely positioned
- there are no fire alarms in the rooms and common area, thus increasing health & safety risks
- the rooms are very dated and old fashioned, are in bad need of a modern upgrade to give it a premium feel
- overall, I think it's too expensive for the quality of service and quality of rooms provided
