Maybe having to pay for parking at the hotel
Room clean and tidy
The hotel staff charged me £50 extra as a deposit but they didn’t refund this amount to date!
Excellent Hotel with excellent staff and service

Despite a few practical and policy‑related drawbacks, this is a very comfortable and well‑located hotel offering a high standard of service. The hotel’s location is excellent, with Piccadilly Train Station just steps away, making both arrival and onward travel extremely convenient. The interior is modern, pleasant, and well maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Self check‑in worked mostly well and helped speed up the arrival process. Breakfast was excellent, with good quality and variety. The bed was comfortable, the room temperature was consistently well adjusted, and the bathroom was clean and well looked after. A generous amount of toiletries was provided. The noon checkout time was especially appreciated, as it allowed for a relaxed departure without rushing. In addition to the central location near several points of interest, the hotel benefits from two free city bus lines that circulate around Manchester, with stops conveniently located next to the train station and the hotel. It is also worth noting that the hotel has completed Booking.com’s “Travel Proud” training.
As with my other stay, the damage deposit policy is disappointing. Although it is stated in advance that a £50 deposit will be withheld prior to arrival, charging every guest by default does not feel appropriate or guest‑friendly. Taking the money before arrival makes little sense, and without a joint inspection at check‑in and check‑out, the responsibility is placed entirely on the guest. The refund process also takes several days, which is inconvenient. The room flooring is covered with thick carpet, making it difficult to move wheeled luggage. The so‑called “express checkout” is awkwardly designed, as it requires filling out a form, which defeats the purpose of an express process. There was also noticeable noise from a trash collection truck, particularly when glass bottles were being emptied.
Convenient location right near the train station. Very smart, staff extremely helpful and polite. We were able to drop our cases there before check in so could do some exploring without them. Really comfortable room, well equipped including fridge with a couple of bottles of water, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. We went to the Co-op arena which was about 30 minutes walk along the canal, you can also get the tram there.
Only potential negative is the trams can be a little noisy first thing in the morning as they tootle past but didn’t bother us.
Location , bed is big and comfortable nice staff

No skysports in room
The location is great as it is near the main station and trams.
