Do not Stay at this Nightmare Motel. I couldn't make up a story like this if I tried.
Pros:

Do not stay at this place. Don't do it. The pictures on their website are not from the actual hotel. My Magnuson Hotel 'adventure' was like a bad horror movie. I am not kidding. I was trying to stay in some small towns and away from the big chain motels. I had called and was told plenty of room no need to reserve. I arrived and the parking lot was empty... hmmm kind of odd. When I arrived at 7pm and checked in I had to sign something saying 'no cancelation refunds within 24 hours of booking.' I asked, "I'm here now... how am I going to cancel?" The reply was, "I know it is weird, just company policy." Hmmmm. Given a room on the first floor, I put my stuff on the dresser in the room, turned on the little table lamp and worked for a bit. Wanted to get some ice, so I walked to the front desk and couldn't find the manager to ask. I ventured down the long hallway looking for an ice machine, no luck. When I turned around I noticed bleached out footprints in the carpet and SOMETHiNG splattered/stained on the other doors in the hallway... weird.... Got back to my room and I tried to open the windows for some air... oh...they were already unlatched and had no lock or latch, just slid open... and I am on the first floor. Decided to call the front desk... go to the room phone it is dead....and the phone cord was cut. Yes, definitely getting creeped out... So I turned on the overhead lights... Mold along ceiling and wall, plaster falling on the bed and nightside table. Yea... definitely creeped out. I'm glad my suitcase was on the dresser... I didn't touch the bed or look at the sheets... I went to find the manager and... he is nowhere to be found, not picking up my cell call. I am not one to pay for a room and back out but all the hairs on the back of my neck were standing up. Time to go, definitely time to go. Out in the empty parking lot I was putting my bag back in the trunk... look up... and there was someone shuffling towards me from the woods at the edge of the huge parking lot.. I AM NOT KIDDING OR MAKING THIS STUFF UP. (I told you it was like a horror movie) I wish I had taken more photos, but I was getting the heck out. I got the last room at a chain hotel in town. Manager of that place said, "Might be a little loud 'til 10pm. Bunch of motorcycle guys staying here." I have never been so glad to see a bunch of people in my whole life. How is this place even still open???

Pros:

This is the most run down hotel, I have ever seen. If you want to see it you will be amazed that they can even rent rooms like this.

Crackheads work the desk
Pros:

Do not stay here they want you to pay in cash. I tried to give them cash they didn’t have change they said will give it to you later that made no sense. It’s a business you should have cash if a customer brings in $100 bill they refuse to let me pay with my card to check in early they want to cash for that. I said I don’t have more cash I’ll just use my card. They refused to let me use my card. I’m pretty sure they were just trying to pocket my early check-in fee. That’s why they wanted cash they looked like they do drugs bunch of missing teeth. A lot of weird people just hanging around that look like they do drugs overall, I did not stay there , I’ll have to fight to get my money back from the bank

Pros:

At least it was cheap, but it smelled like mildew to me. It must be the humid air from the pool.

Pros:

Worst experience ever with a hotel. Upon check in, the hotel owner/manager was berating his staff about charges to another guest. This continued the whole time he checked me in. He then personally said "give her room 105". When my family and I entered the hall of the hotel it reeked of cigarette smoke, when we got to our room it reeked of chemical smell (probably something to get rid of the smoke smell) Went to front desk and said we'd only be staying 1 or 3 nights because it was so dirty/gross. He offered another room and not a refund. We explained another room wouldn't have made a difference (especially since he personally put us in that room). He then said we needed to take it up with Hotels.com. Spent 30 min on the phone with Hotels.com and they said he refused the refund because we wouldn't take the new room. It was disgusting. Hotels.com should be ashamed to offer this place on their website.
Dirty everything, loose faucet, spider webs on lamps, something splattered on the tv, stained/dirty lamp shades, dirty towels, sink with dirty/missing caulking, wallpaper was stapled to the wall, curtains hanging by the rod, plaster on walls, missing towel rack, and the grossest was the toilet. Never received refund or follow up from Hotels.com or the Magnusun Hotel. Would not recommend to anyone. Pay $20 extra dollars and stay somewhere decent.

Took a stroll around the property to get fresh air. Besides overgrown vegetation, it was a pretty decent area of town

Don't go there
Pros:

Black mold in rooms 128 and 130. He kicked a bunch of people out and all he is concerned about is the Mexicans who are coming to work fields. His plan was to get rid of the whites and the blacks. He is being shut down. He is a racist against homeless people. Beware he will kick you out within week

Pros:

Just was a weird experience… owner assumably was the man that was there when I arrived. He was sitting in the common area eating & watching a game on tv, mind you I had just pulled up into a spot right next to the building in the 5 minute parking spot, the lights were shining right into that common area. Rather than checking me in, he sat and continued to eat and watch his game on the tv, not to mention didn’t even say hello until a minute or two had gone by of me standing at the front desk 10 feet away. Finally comes to the counter and goes through the usual small talk, well when I returned the polite question of “and you?” to his “how has your night been?”, he says “Lonely. Very lonely.” Just… ick. Made me feel weird given the context that I am a mid 20’s female completely by myself at a hotel in the middle of absolute no where at 11pm. Anyways, got the key, let him know that I was going to grab my stuff from my car and that I’d be right in, then I would move my car out of the limited time parking area. So I went out, grab my bags, and head back in. He is promptly standing at the desk that time when I walk back in, and as I pass he walks out from behind his desk, right behind me and starts walking closely behind me. He walked for about half the hallway with me and all I could think was “I’m getting followed into my room. This is it.” Maybe it was just hypervigilance but the previous “lonely” comment made it 10x more uncomfortable and more suspicious. Would not book again.

Pros:

The front desk could see that I was clearly disabled, and they didn't provide any opportunity for a room that would help me with my disability, it was a two day stay that I had and even the next day I had to go down the stairs and go to the front desk to just get a new entry card because my card stopped working it just isn't a facility that facilitates people with disabilities or anyone that's looking to actually relax

Do NOT go here!!!! Appalling!!!!
Pros:

This was the worst hotel I have ever set foot in. When my friend and I arrived, we immediately felt uneasy as the entire entryway to get into the building and to our room was covered in dirty laundry, broken bottles, old shoes, socks and underwear strewn everywhere. And on top of that there was a group of men who were gathered and sitting in chairs outside and appeared to be hosing off laundry. Upon entering our room we saw that the men gathered outside were directly in front of our window with their belongings on the window ledge making it feel unsafe to open the window to get relief from the absolute stench of smoke. We tried turning on the lamps since we couldn’t open the curtains, and literally none of them worked. We expected the overall dirty and stained room, but we were not prepared for the state of the bathtub, shower, and shower curtain. It was beyond disgusting. We were there for maybe 15 minutes & decided to leave because ultimately we didn’t feel safe at all. The worker at the front desk told us he couldn’t approve a refund and to call Bob after 5pm. We did and he was extremely rude with us and refused to give any kind of refund or even apology. He also accused us of using the room and lying to get a refund since we called “so late” instead of right when it happened. He did not care that the other worker specifically told us to wait until 5pm. I’ve stayed in some sketchy hotels, but this was BY FAR the worst! ZERO STARS!
