Very comfortable stay
Pros:

Loreta in the restaurant was the highlight for me ..very kind and welcoming and after a particularly tough day at work she made me feel comfortable and settled .. strange how a person can make a difference but at the end of the day people buy from people.

Cons:

Be prepared to pay extra for a hot breakfast.
Pros:

My husband and I booked this hotel for a mini honeymoon getaway in February 2026 and selected the option for 1 night bed and breakfast. The hotel itself was very pleasing on the eye and set in a beautiful countryside setting.

On checking in, we were advised that we had been placed in a ‘cosy’ double room but could pay extra to upgrade. We decided against paying the extra amount as double is all we required, needless to say were shocked when we saw just how small the double room was.

In the morning, we went down for the breakfast we had prepaid for and as we were being seated were asked if we would like to pay an extra £5 each to access the ‘hot breakfast’ options. This was not mentioned at all when booking as one would assume a bed and breakfast stay would include a full breakfast, unless otherwise stated. Therefore I felt it was important to make others aware of this policy before booking, as there is absolutely nothing on the website which states you would need to be pay for extras and upgrades. And when approaching the reception to ask why the booking does not state ‘continental breakfast only,’ the lady simply shrugged offering no help at all.

Such a shame really and quite frankly spoilt our first getaway as husband and wife.

Relaxing and peaceful retreat!
Pros:

Everything was great from when we got there to when we left! A great welcome and the staff were all very attentive and helpful when finding out about the local area. The view of the lake was a lovely treat and the park backing onto the Manor House was great for walks and scenery. Peace and beauty in eqaul measures! All the facilities we needed, we would definitely stay there again and thank you for a wonderful couple of days!

Ask for a room in the main house.
Pros:

I don't usually go for country house hotels. They are often miles from anywhere and local amenities, but this was a corporate trip. This hotel is OK but as is often the case the room you get can vary depending on whether it's 'the original house' or 'the extension'. I got in the original house which I think was the better choice, talking to colleagues who got 'the extension'. However the rooms are 'very nineties' and the decor and fitments could do with being brought into the 2020s. Corner baths, for example, and inlaid tiles were very chic thirty years ago and the toilet lacked refinement with a very noisy flush. Overall though, they have done the best they can without major refurb and the staff were pleasant. I wouldn't not say if the decor doesn't bother your that you couldn't spend a pleasant weekend there. I didn't get time to tour the grounds but they looked extensive and nice.

Our stay was OK but let down by some features of the room facilities so it seemed overly expensive.
Pros:

We chose the "eXECUTIVE tWIN" room because of it's size and facilities. The size was as expected. The beds were comfortable.
We chose the hotel because of it's location - easy to get to and hoped it would be quiet, which it was.

Cons:

Some aspects of the room could do with re-thinking. For example - there is no chest of drawers nor shelves in the wardobe which are suitable for clothes. The bathroom mirror would benefit from a light above it and the desk/dressing table needs a light on it. The TV remote control needs replacing - some buttons are almost worn smooth (and there is no information/diagram to help ).
The room details say a "Tea/Coffee Maker" is provided - not in this room.

Pros:

Me and my girlfriend stayed in the hotel and the location and the style itself was so beautiful. We really enjoyed it.

Cons:

Could tell the toilet and bathroom were not new, it's not a problem just commenting.
