Malmaison Reading

We came in for dinner last Saturday and, as there was a wedding taking place in the restaurant, we ended up dining in the bar area instead. Although we had originally booked for the restaurant, thanks to Yvette, the experience turned out to be even better than expected.

Yvette was absolutely fantastic and really looked after us throughout the evening. She took the time to walk us through the menu in detail and made some brilliant recommendations, including perfect wine pairings with our food. Her knowledge, warmth, and professionalism completely elevated our evening.

I just had to write in to say how impressed we were with her service. She turned what could have been a slight inconvenience into a wonderful dining experience and made us want to come back again very soon. A huge thank you to Yvette for making our night so special!

Awesome stay at Malmaison mid-week in March. Fun bar and cocktails, great staff, excellent rooms with a huge bathroom/shower. Special shout out to Savannah, who made sure we were able to get to the RailAir bus pickup for a direct ride to LHR.

The afternoon tea here was absolutely amazing. The best selection, and tasted delicious. Diana looked after us so well. Highly recommend.

My self and my husband came in for a valentines meal and drinks and wow ! what a wonderful experience we had. Not only was the atmosphere and ambience amazing the whole experience was down to the lovely lady who served us and made our evening so special . Thank you so much Yvette you truely made our night

The staff are amazing! All of them - from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping - honestly the nicest people ever. I feel like I’m home when I stay there. Thanks Nick and crew for always taking good care of me!

Had a short business trip recently & Yvette served us, she was exceptional, she worked so hard! We had drinks in the bar in the evening & then low & behold, she was serving us at breakfast too! Does this woman ever stop?! She is a credit to the hotel!

No jacket potato on the menu. Staff slow to serve me. And the coffee was rubbish. Also I tried to order a humble jacket potato and was told DIRECTLY that they didn’t do JPS.

I told them jacket potato’s were going viral RN like FR fr 100% on god. They looked at me like I was stupid.

I came in for a family afternoon tea to celebrate my mums birthday. It was a fantastic experience. The quality of the food was superb but what made our afternoon so wonderful was our waitress/ bar tender Yvette. She took time to ask what we were celebrating and made my mum feel so special. She knew everything about the food menu choices and recommended some lovely wine. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was served with a smile.
Because of this excellent service, I am booking another afternoon tea for my birthday in a few weeks. I hope Yvette will be on duty to help me celebrate.

This is a great hotel. Very close to the station yet you don't hear the trains. Friendly and helpful staff. A really lovely room with great tea and coffee selection. Powerful shower and nice deep bath. Such a comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent and so was the coffee. Definitely recommended!

MalMaison hosted our Company Christmas Party. The food was excellent, and the room was laid out well and beautifully decorated. Fran paid close attention to what we needed and made sure the food service and the welcome drinks etc were planned exactly as we wanted. The Serving staff were efficient, and the bar staff looked after us well. A great venue, a great team, and we look forward to MalMaison, Reading, hosting our next event.

Stayed here as opposite railway station. In town for a wedding. Had top floor room. My God, the space in the room. And the bathroom! Separate shower and separate bath. Very clean rooms. But the bed! It was as comfortable as my own. All staff were wonderful, couldn't do enough to see if we wanted anything. The restaurant had very good meals and I would highly recommend it. My 4th trip to UK and this is best hotel I have stayed in by far

breakfast with yvette and ioana, thank you for looking after us. my wife has nut allergy so they let her sit and wait and got food for her. coffee was the best i have tasted in a while. you have several choices from the hot breakast menu ( £23pp if not included with room booking) along with continental choices.
room 103 had a strong smell of man's perfume on entry. we aired the room, and it was better after 5hrs. toilet flush low pressure, sink slow to drain so maybe needs unblocking. although rainfall shower hot and strong. bath is big-sized.
there is a nespresso machine, ferrero chocolates, bathrobes slippers, a safe, a hairdryer, also an ironing board. staff very accomodating overall a satisfying overnight break.

On business in the area and found this to be the perfect location. Easy access to amenities, clean and tidy hotel with attentive staff. Will certainly return if in the area.

Yvette is amazing she is hilarious.. love her to bits. Had us in tears at points with her jokes. Shes your amazing star.. couldn’t b better .. James was also great, but Yvette was the star

Great atmosphere. Evette was the best,, did not mind us moving the furniture.
Great drinks. Great comfortable chairs.

Great location directly opposite the train station. Very well lit up area, feels safe, and lots of shops open until late and opening early. Pick and drop off with a taxi has to be slightly away from the hotel as it is a bus lane outside. Although there are also black taxis by the station which is a stone’s throw. Room was comfortable but lighting in the room is poor. The overall hotel is nice but does look like it needs updating in areas. Breakfast is very good, with cooked options at your request. Yes, I would stay again.

I was waiting for a train from Reading and decided to work from here this afternoon. I have to say that the staff were brilliant, they were very helpful, kind and very welcoming. I would 100% recommend using the bar facilities. The member of staff that sticks in my mind is James. I work in an industry with lots of staff and if one of them was to represent my brand the way James did for this place then I would be privileged to have him as an employee. I didn't quite catch the name of the kind lady he was working with but she was great too!

What a way to end the working year. Staying for 2 nights on business and popped into the bar after a day at the office. Greeted by James who was working at the bar and let me know it was Happy Hour! Perfect timing I thought. He explained the offers and sorted me a drink super fast.

He asked about my day and actually seemed bothered by the answer - a lovely touch.

Fully decked out for Christmas, the bar was in fine form and was a great way to end the day.

I frequently stay at Malmaison Reading. The hotel is conveniently situated a stone’s throw from the train station. The rooms are comfortable, clean and the beds are fabulous. I always have a great night’s sleep here - it’s like my home away from home.
The staff are always kind,
professional and polite, even if they’re not having the best day. Let’s face it we all have bad days - I notice the staff always go the extra mile and nothing is ever too much trouble.
