Helpful and supportive staff in a good hotel location
Pros:

Comfortable hotel, good location for nearby attractions/restaurants/World Trade Centre. Very good staff supporting your stay. Room overlooking Galleface Green/sea.

An excellent place to relax, eat well and to be looked after.
Pros:

Reception staff are lovely and efficient.
The restaurant and cafe staff are attentive and well trained to cope with anything that you may require.
The food is very good with a wide variety of choices. We ate in the Ocean and steak restaurants, both excellent.

Excellent except for the noisy pool music. Will not stay again unless the pool music is fixed.

Breakfast and staff were friendly and professional. Menu selection was excellent. Great service.

Cons:

The lobby was very busy. Had to dodge guests who were milling around for their functions. The pool music was too loud - boom boom boom. Totally unacceptable at night. Bass should be lowered and speakers pointed away from guest rooms. Please check the dB level in guest rooms to see for yourself...... Checked out the Hilton and it was excellent - no obnoxious boom boom boom.

Clean, comfortable room, the very best breakfast and brunch,. The pool area well manage (thank's to Chanduka). And the very kind Nabeel in executive lounge. We will come back!!!

Disappointing and frustrating stay
Pros:

The location is ok and the food served was pretty reasonable with good selections on buffets at breakfast and dinner.

Cons:

I’ve stayed in many hotels in Colombo over last few years and this was worst. It’s tired, shabby and in need of a refurb. Poolside calm was shattered by ridiculously loud music…felt more like Club 18-30 than a 4/5 star hotel. The pool tiles were grubby and many cracked. Pool towels were pretty low quality. There never seemed to be enough sun loungers. Someone at the top needs to either be replaced or waken up and realise things just ain’t working.
We had to fight for the correct room type even though we had written confirmation. The room we were allocated was really disappointingly shabby. The room had a lingering smell of Cigarette smoke and when we complained we were told - that often happens. Really? So much for specifying a Non smoking room. Guests get the ciggie aromas passively! Bad, bad, bad.
The majority of staff were at least friendly…a few downright rude. Didn’t tick many boxes at all and could not recommend.

Nous avons dormi 2 nuits le 11 et le 12 mars en partage à 2 et par contre 3 nuits ont été prélevées sur notre compte bancaire :1nuit et demi sur chaque compte bancaire 114,95 euros ×2 et chacune 58,53 euros ! Comment pouvons nous procéder au remboursement ? Merci
