Supurb room real value for money

Pros:

The hotel is right next to the airport. It is easily accessible with a train. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. It is very convenient place to stay when one needs to catch an early flight. Booking a room at Moevenpick was an exellent decison.

Cons:

There is nothing to complain about. All was good.

Klimaanlage ausgefallen. Keine Kommunikation darüber.

J. Suite war schön, geräumig und luxurious.
Super nah am Flughafen. Sehr leise, bzw. gut Geräuschisoliert.
Wenn die Klimaanlage funktioniert hätte wäre es wahrscheinlich eine schöne Übernachtung gewesen.

Cons:

Temperature: Es war über 30° und die Klimaanlage in allen Zimmern ist ausgefallen. Nachdem wir die Rezeption informiert haben, stellte sich heraus, dass das Problem schon eine Weile bekannt ist und viele andere Gäste direkt beim Check in ins Nachbar Hotel umgebucht wurden. Uns wurde dies erst nach Beschwerde angeboten als unser kleines Kind schon eingeschlafen war, also verzichteten wir darauf.
Es war eine sehr unangenehme kaum auszuhaltende Nacht, die wir mit offenem Fenster direkt an der stark befahrenen Straße verbrachten. Alles in allem eine sehr schlechte Kommunikation und damit Behandlung von Hotelgästen.

Great hotel but the worst check in experience ever!
Pros:

What can I say the hotel was very well located the room was fantastic and the bathroom was large - all good. I would even say the staff were friendly- once I actually got my room key which was literally 2 1/2 hours after I arrived and I wish I was joking - all in all from a facilities perspective it’s great.

Cons:

So here’s where it all goes down and why I’ve given rating of 4 - granted there was a storm in Zurich and many flights were diverted to Stuttgart- it was a gong show. I know these things are unavoidable so let’s take this out of the equation.

But when I arrived there was a line up like I’ve never seen - picture attached. In this line were people like me who had a PAID reservation but the majority had no reservation and had been too by the overwhelmed airline staff - try the MÖVENPICK - they normally have rooms. And so they came.

Now I saw this and asked about 4 people in the line - do you have a reservation- no. So as it was almost 1:00 am I went to the front of the line to say - I have a paid reservation can I please just get my room key. This ended up in the people in the line getting so angry and calling me every name in the book. Granted there were people that said I have a reservation- to which I said - the staff of the hotel should then tell people - those with paid reservations go to this line and those without reservations please go to this line. This would have expedited things significantly but the crowd got even angrier - may I say especially those without reservations. Wow - I don’t think I’ve ever had a check in experience like it.

At the end if the day I went to the back of the line as it was literally a safety risk to try and sort out a situation that should have been handled by at least 1 of the two members of staff on hand. It would have taken all of 3 minutes to do and could have saved but only time but also reduced the overall anger level.

So by the time I got my room key I had spent 2 1/2 hours in line and it was almost 4:00 am until I got into bed.

And what is so interesting is that when I was getting my key I said thank you to the receptionist and he said - same thing happened last night as well.
