Lovely bedroom and comfortable large bed. Fabulous setting and views spectacular. Food very nice.
Poorly trained bar/waiting staff. Very slow service.
No Pinot Grigio white wine available. No lime available for spirits. My friend asked for lemon in her drink and was given a half of a lemon to add to her drink.
Breakfast buffet cool.
Overall very expensive and sub standard service and not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Everything was fabulous. The location, the hotel, the staff etc.
All was great
The setting is lovely but I wouldn't be a huge fan of the architecture - functional but lacking in charm. It feels like a big US hotel and most of the guests were from the US. Staff are very pleasant and helpful as you would expect in any Irish hotel. Rooms are a decent size. I was a bit taken aback to be abused by another rather unpleasant guest who accused me of queue jumping. The hotel needs a clearer queueing system at reception rather than a free for all. The spa was great though.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful views, very clean, very friendly staff, tasty food and 5 minutes walk from the gardens. Great value of money as well.
Nothing, everything was amazing and it was one of the best experiences I had
A really lovely midweek break. An easy drive of an hour from Dublin airport and a warm welcome. Our room was beautiful, very clean with lovely garden views. Breakfast was tasty and had a huge selection. We dined in Sika and in the Sally Gap, both excellent. Friendly staff and lovely decor made for a memorable stay.
We stayed here in a Mountain View suite to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. From the minute we arrived staff were so attentive and couldn’t be more helpful. The room was massive with beautiful views. We paid extra for the romantic package and it was lovely. My husband even got a birthday card and gift from the hotel. The spa was beautiful - we each had a revitalise treatment which was very good value and really relaxing. Breakfast buffet had a huge range of food and dinner in Silka restaurant was exceptional. We walked around the grounds and the River walk is well worth doing. One of the nicest short breaks we’ve had and a memorable 50th birthday.
Our 3rd time visiting The Powerscourt hotel, and it keeps getting better and better. So much so that we will return once again early January.
The Powerscourt hotel is our favorite spot in the whole of Ireland. The calmness throughout the hotel and the breathtaking grounds it sits on allows for the body and mind to reset like nowhere else. From the room quality and cleanliness, the spa with a serenity leisure area to the breakfast and dinners, you have to see it to feel it. Time and time again the staff are the icing on the cake throughout the hotel, incredibly friendly and diligent.
We look forward to our return in January and many more trips stays through the year.
We stayed here for two nights. It’s my second time and I remain of the same impression that the hotel is falling short in a few important areas. Breakfast is wonderful but who would pay extra for an omelette. The chef who was cooking the scrambled eggs should set up a station and cook eggs to order. The setup of the breakfast buffet is difficult to get to when the table settings are set so close. The restaurant was understaffed on the first morning and we had to wait for the serving of our teas and coffee. The quality of the breakfast is excellent. We dined in the bar ( see separate review). It was very warm and I was concerned about how cool the rooms were. We initially got a cooler that didn’t work but a fan quickly and efficiently replaced it. Staff at the front desk were indifferent on arrival. A lot of overseas guests who were heard discussing the overpriced food.
Love this hotel. Staff go above and beyond to make you happy. The beautiful decor and amazing food is hard matched in other 5 star hotels. It is walking distance from the village and there are so many beautiful tourist attractions outside the hotel.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and are very clean and comfortable.
We ate in the sally gap and the food was amazing. Breakfast was beautifully laid out with lots of variety.
Very poor service from start to finish, this was a 60th birthday gift from my children- very disappointing.
Check- in staff not aware of what’s going on in the hotel!! Asked about outdoor yoga, she hadn’t a clue! Initially sent to our room and receptionist forgot to give us the room cards!!! We had to make our way back to reception from the 5th floor, ditsy girl said she realised when we left!!! She should have followed us up to give us the card!
Reported tv and safe not working on leaving for a visit to the river walk( which is a good 10/15 min from the hotel) also asked for room to be serviced, this was 12noon on our return, safe still not working and room still not serviced. It took 4 phone calls including taking to a manager at reception to have it done!!!
Staff in sika restaurant need 5 star retraining, left waiting for wine for 20 minute and had to ask for it.
Saunas only fit 3 people at a push. Terrace ( only outdoor area to sit) closed for private function on the Monday so in this lovely summer
weather we had to sit inside and look out at the sun. In summary, not 5 star and a rip off price. Will not be returning.
I was at the spa all day and went to the gym. This is a top notch spa, if you have a few treatments, go to the ladies pool/sauna, get lunch, get the salt therapy, go to main pool, jacuzzi, cool shower etc, go to gym, it takes ages, you can be there 9.30 to 6pm!!!! Its a really beautiful spa & gym, top notch treatments, all the ladies are very professional yet sooo friendly.
In the gym the guy spent time breaking down the mystery of the bridge lift, he showed me how to use 2 machines to, for best form, he was really attentive to my concerns and taught me how to do each thing perfectly. I havent really seen this level of teaching in gym before unless it was a personal trainer. Top marks to this guy!!
Prachtig hotel, heerlijke bedden, heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel
Hoge prijzen
Gorgeous! Room unbelievable!
Restaurant awesome.
There was nothing!!
Terrible experience...
Overpriced... rude staff and arrogance that defies gravity.
The food is worse than Mc Donalds.
If you want to waste your money you better throw it out of the window.
I do not recommend it at all... terrible experience!
Absolutely not family friendly, it’s a fur coat and no knickers kind of place, looks pretty from the outside but it’s really, really grotty underneath
