Pretty and comfortable
The pool was surrounded so the sun had a hard time being over the pool!
Good location, close to UCSB and close to local coffee and restaurants.
Side entrances behind the building with no lighting at night. Stairway carpets worn and stained, in need of a refresh.
Nice and clean
The Asian lady at breakfast today as very rude to my wife when she asked for more Hershey syrup for my daughter. She took the syrup out, but didn’t give it to her until after she went back to get and refill the waffle batter first. Then she rudely told her to take the bottle to somewhere else to pour some. Such a weird interaction. She doesn’t seem very happy working in hospitality and should get more training working with customers. There’s no need to be rude at all when someone asks you nicely. There’s front desk staff who checked me in was wonderful though.
Rooms were clean and comfortable
Charging for parking in that area was ridiculous; and the pet fee of $75 was grossly excessive. While we otherwise liked our stay, those charges would lead me to pick another hotel next time.
So, Sorry The breakfast wasn't as good.
Better breakfast. White rice and some bacon.
Everything is so clean, neat.
I like everything.
the staff tried to be helpful and were courteous. Not well trained but good hires. They tried
the floors are super thin and I couldn't sleep until the person above us stopped walking back and forth. Sounded like goosestepping.
Also, the entrance consistently smelled of pot and there is a great deal of homeless camp crap by the creek off of the property.
Smelled like sewage

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent stay at Hampton Inn Santa Barbara/Goleta (Check-in: March 29, 2026) and to request a full refund for my booking.
My stay was completely disrupted by a series of safety incidents and operational failures, which directly violate the "Hampton 100% Satisfaction Guarantee" promised by the hotel brand. Below are the details of my experience:
• Unnecessary Evacuation due to a False Alarm: At approximately 12:30 AM, the fire alarm in the building went off. As a guest in Room 214, I was forced to evacuate immediately, only to discover later that it was a false alarm caused by the hotel’s system failure. We were subjected to freezing winds outside for over 30 minutes for an entirely avoidable situation.
• Total Absence of Crisis Management: During this false alarm incident, there was no hotel staff present to inform guests that it was a mistake or to provide any guidance. Leaving guests stranded in the cold during a false alarm shows a complete lack of care and professional management.
• Operational Failure at Checkout: Compounding the exhaustion from the disrupted night, the elevator was out of service during my checkout today (March 30). I had to manually carry two heavy suitcases down from the second floor. After suffering from sleep deprivation due to the hotel's false alarm, this additional physical labor was unreasonable.
As a frequent traveler, I rely on the Hampton Guarantee, which states: "If you're not 100% satisfied, we don't expect you to pay." Given that my safety was compromised and the basic facilities were unavailable, I believe a full refund is the only fair resolution.
I have already attempted to discuss this with the front desk, but they failed to provide an immediate solution. I am now looking to Booking.com to intervene and ensure this brand guarantee is honored.
Good service at front desk. Breakfast good. Comfy room.
