Average hotel, no hot water 2/3 days on the first floor of rooms, first day yellow water, no pressure and no hot water, second day decent shower with little pressure, third day no hot water.
Rooms are clean included breakfasts and dinner were very average at best.
Walking distance to the main square about 1/2 hour fairly easy to find your way.
The pools and courtyard were beautiful. Our room was clean. The shower had no pressure or hot water. It just dribbled out and we had to take straight hot water showers and wvwn then it wasn't hot enough. They didn't furnish water either in the room or with the meals. We were told we couldn't bring our own drinks to meals. The orange juice was a poor concentrate. And that's sad when literally every where else had the best fresh orange juice I've had in 30 years. There was a lady in the restaurant who was very nice and helpful.
The restaurant's dining table didn't seem to keep the food hot enough. There were omelets for breakfast but there wasn't anything to get on them so they were just omelet shaped scrambled eggs.
Ok hotel, assigned by intrepid. Decent and clean room, with saving grace the location. I feel safe walking after dark (7-8 ish, solo female). Close to post office where I could take bus to Jam al Fina for only 4 Dirham. Unless breakfast is included and time is the essence, skip and eat at espace fruit othman accross the street (open at 8) and many snacks little restaurant for dinner around. Efficient but not super friendly receptionist. Probably will choose somewhere else if up to me, unless of course, if the price is right.
Nice hotel good service at room even restaurant and staff at reception good welcoming I can’t recommend this hotel close to centre I well stay again even I well bring family to stay here hotel has good location have nice pool two restaurants stuff at restaurants help every morning about break fast also at bar you can get cafe or marocain the
We had a spacious room over looking one of the pools. The staff are what makes this hotel truly special. A big Thank You to Meriam and Zineb at the front desk. These ladies work hard to ensure a great customer experience. Another big thanks to Edhidi and Abdelilih Porters extrodinare. They were helpful with every question we had. And the lady at the omelette station always had the biggest smile, and her omelettes were amazing. Such a great stay!!!
We stayed at this hotel for 7 days and had a great experience. Hotel was clean and swimming pools were great too. The kids enjoyed the stay and its very close to all shops and attractions. Mubarak the manager was very attentive and very helpful and made sure we were happy with everything. We would deffinetly recommend and stay again.
It is a beatiful place to stay, the food is very good, and also the rooms are clean. All the employees are very kind and helpful.
Our 2nd time in Hotel Mirriam, an outstanding service 👏 👌 very hospitable, staff are helpful & amazing 👏 definitely coming back here again soon. A big shout out to Matteish the waiter really gave us a v.i.p. experience a great man.
Website and trip advisor state bar is available on site. There is no alcohol available anywhere in the hotel. The hotel was adequate, the shower/tub a bit dated and not easy to get into. But I do hate false advertising. Don’t really care if bar or not but don’t tell me there is when there isn’t.
Some has previously written that they don't know why Exoticca keeps booking this hotel and I'd have to agree. It is true, even posted at the front desk, no outside beverages may be brought into the hotel. You're forced to purchase your bottled water and sodas at the small café off the main lobby. This hotel may have been nice 30 years ago, but it's definitely showing it's age, with the lacquer chipping off the furniture in the room and bedside tables having wobbly legs. This hotel was adequate. There is a nice restaurant, La Bagatelle, next to the Hotel Imperial on the main street...skip the dinner buffet and eat there. Desk staff bordered on the indifferent to efficient. They do not have any sort of business center with a computer , where you can check-in for your flights on-line.
Very welcoming and warm staff… reception staff amazing, helpful and actually go out of their way … housekeeping staff amazing… rooms were replenished with fresh fruits and cleaned every single day… restaurant staff amazing… rooms massive… thank you for making our holiday perfect
Stayed 3 nights at this hotel at the end of an 8 day Morocco tour. Their website does not reflect the current status of the hotel. There is no bar and we never saw the coffee shop open. The buffet food definitely was not 4* Given the spacious lounge, reception and business areas, this hotel must have been of a standard at one time. Our bedroom was clean and spacious but ever so gloomy. The shower gel provided was in miniscule sachets and a request for an extra towel was refused. There was a nice balcony but day time construction work nearby impacted our use. Another request to unlock the room safe was also denied.
This hotel is just a little tired. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower was hot but the towels are all well worn. There is a refrigerator in the room which kept things below room temperature. The air conditioner definitely works. There are many small restaurants with a ver short walk. The main square, mosque, and bazaar are about 30 minutes walking distance.
PROS: Nice hotel in a great location, front desk, maids and bellboys extremely friendly. The pool area is lovely and a gorgeous Siamese cat resides there.
CONS: Extremely rude restaurant manager seen shouting at guests for absolutely no reasons, lucky for him he did not address me directly, would have went very badly for him. Friendly front desk man provided me with a room key without asking my name nor asking for a piece of identification which made me scared for my safety and that of my belongings. Most likely just an oversight on his part but still, we had never met and I could have been just anyone willing to rob a room.
Emerygency stairs lighting does not work properly ended up going up and down the stairs in total darkness which felt very unsafe.
I still recommend this hotel.
I am aware that the Meriem has less than glowing reviews. Our room was large and had a balcony, wifi was solid and the a/c worked which were all pluses.
Shower was good and everything was clean and tidy. Special thank you to housekeeping who were exemplary as if they worked for a different hotel.
A few things were falling apart and could do with some attention.
Food was very average - soups bland, strange pasta dish every night and no fruit.
Curiously they played piped music all day with just three tracks which was really irritating after a while!
Location was ok
Perhaps the above sounds more negative than intended. This is not a bad hotel just faintly average.
Checked into the hotel! Called down to say the air conditioner was not working! Receptionist said they would send someone up right away. No one came to the room to check on it. Cannot leave the door open at night as too much noise from the pool and the music playing there. The sliding door to the balcony does not lock! So that is a worry leaving the room!
This hotel should be reported to the Ministry of Tourism in my opinion.
There are so much wrong with this hotel that it ruined all my perspective of the moroccan culture and hospitality.
1. The staff is rude and noone ever smiles. It is like they are being forced to work there.
2. Location is terrible. surrounded by construction all around.
3. I got stuck in the elevator with my fellow traveler. And i guess it is a regular thing in this hotel. I heard that after a couple of rides after I got stuck , 2 maids were stuck within an hour period. so my advise dont take elevators.
4. The rooms are so outdated. I had issues with AC. it simply just didnt work. My room felt like a sauna. I had trouble breathing. Apparently all rooms had a problem with AC.
5. Now to fun part. An elderly woman with her husband (in their 70s) were kicked out of the hotel by the manager/owner in front of everyone just because they brought a bottle of water from the outside !!! The water was confiscated. The manager was yelling, cursing and threatening the guest in front of everyone with no shame whatsoever! The couple was shocked when the manager called a police on them and was threatening to put them in jail just because of the water bottle !!! On top of that the manager instructed the couple not to tell anyone about it! What an absurd place! I felt very unsafe in this place and it just ruined for me the whole moroccan experience. This place should be shut down in my opinion!
6. The dont give you pool towels for free! you have to buy something in order to get a towel. and you cant bring a towel from room they will take it away from you right away.
7. The breakfast was terrible i had nothing to eat. Mint tea was incredibly bitter and coffee just disgusting.
8. I ordered a tea in the middle of the day because I had sore throat, and I asked to get honey with it. I was told that the restaurant is closed and they cant get me honey. However, my friend ordered a lunch and the sandwich she ordered was brought to her from the restaurant that i was told was closed! I told the waiter how come you told me the place is closed when you are literally bringing the sandwich from the same place? I was told again , its closed. What a ridiculous place I tell you!
9. Btw if you order anything be ready to wait at least 30-40 min to get your food or tea.
Avoid this place at all cost!
These people are terrible! This place should be shut down!
The room was ok.wires were hanging from sockets. The food was average.what surprised me was that they do not have ice creams in a 40 degree temp, you have to buy water at a huge cost! The AC in the room stops at 16 degrees, and you dont actually feel that the ac is on!
To get pool towels, you need to buy something in the cafe!
Disappointing Stay at Hotel Mariem: Lack of Amenities, Restrictive Policies, and Unpleasant Staff Experience
My recent stay at Hotel Mariem was marred by various disappointments, ranging from the absence of basic amenities to encountering rude and unpleasant staff members.
The lack of essential amenities such as a kettle, iron, and slippers, both in-room and available upon request, significantly detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. Additionally, the hotel's restrictive policy prohibiting outside food and drinks left guests with limited dining options and a sense of frustration.
Adding to the dissatisfaction was the demeanor of the staff members, who were described as rude and unpleasant to interact with. This negative interaction further compounded the already disappointing experience, making the stay at Hotel Mariem less than enjoyable.
Despite potential improvements in accommodation quality, the lack of essential amenities and the presence of unfriendly staff members overshadow any positive aspects of Hotel Mariem. Prospective guests should consider these factors before booking their stay at this establishment.
Property was good and serviced and attention were excellent very humble and great people !!!
