Brilliant staff. Great location. Breakfast selection good.
The bar seems to have time warped from the seventies.
Rooms can be small.
The room was a very high standard clean and an excellent bathroom
It was all good.
Breakfast was really good. The room was nice and clean and the building was outstanding.
It would have been nice if there was some ambience lighting in the swimming pool area (the part that is covered) and maybe some soft music.
Lovely staff. Amazing food. Brilliant bed.
Extremely limited parking which wasn't clear on booking. Whilst hotel was brilliant, I expected more from the room considering what we paid for it.
Dinner bed & breakfast. Booked junior suite, the building is very impressive (former hospital) room spacious and immaculate, food exceptional but the best thing about the hotel is the staff. All were very helpful and genuinely friendly.
Nothing I didn't like but icing on the cake would be a sauna or steam room near the outside pool.
Staff were friendly and welcoming and I had a good dinner in the restaurant. Bed was comfortable.
Unsurprisingly, given its past as a hospital, the hotel retains a strong feeling of having been an institution. My room was quite dark and gloomy and the bathroom was small and awkward.
Super breakfast
Shower was a bit wonky
The room and bathroom were spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent.
Check in was very slow.
The room was great - I booked a 'single' room and on checking in was asked which floor I would like to be on, with the receptionist in the end recommending floor 3 on the basis it was tucked away and more quiet. The room itself was compact but great. I expected a single bed but was happily surprised to find a double - which was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was also great. When I come back this will be my first choice.
This isn't a 'didn't like' because I could't think of one, so more of a suggestion: a 'single use' toothpaste would be AMAZING please!
This was my 3rd stay in the last couple of months and normally I love it but was very disappointed this time.
I book a suite as you have chrome cast! So after a manic day when you want to order room service and just settle with a film! It wouldn’t work! Rang reception oh yer it don’t work!?! Can I have a room that it does? No doesn’t work at all! So I could have just booked a double and saved money as the suite was no better than a double I had before!Spoke to someone later who said it should work then just said to be honest I don’t have a clue! Very very annoying! I had a suite room 308! Light switches by bed don’t work! All the plugs in the desk don’t work! Lights flickering! Room nowhere near the clean standard I’ve had before! Dusty, mark on toilet seat! Dirty utensils!Balcony old dirty with rusty old cheap furniture, bath in another suite lovely and big! This one a cramp tiny tub! Really doesn’t give off luxury suite when it’s pushing £140 a night! I’m due back in Exeter the beginning of April but won’t be back! Will be trying somewhere else.
The room was fab. The toiletries were lovely, the bed was extremely comfortable, and everything was very clean. The location was great too, a short walk from town but not so close that you feel like you're in the middle of it all.
We did find issues with the parking, I dont think the reservation option works as we called ahead and reserved parking but arrived to find no space for us. We were told we could park in the last free space, and then the next day found we were blocked in by another guest who had also reserved parking but not had their space reserved. It wasn't a major issue but I think logistically the hotel would be better off scrapping the option to reserve parking and instead just saying first come first serve with additional parking nearby.
Beautifully kept
Room was too hot overnight
Second stay! The staff are always lovely and polite! Rooms always spotless and modern
First visit I stayed in a suite this one the deluxe double! Only thing with this one is no way to connect tv so you can use Netflix ect so just normal basic channels.
