Hotel Habakuk

Great stay; peaceful and quiet part of Maribor, easily accessible. Friendly staff. Japanese style toilet in room. Clean and well designed.

The hotel is located in a natural setting, which is lovely. The lobby and restaurant appear to have been renovated, and perhaps some of the rooms as well — although ours did not seem recently updated. The bed and mattress felt old, and in the evening, an unpleasant sewage odor was coming from the bathroom.
Breakfast was varied, but some of the served fruit was actually spoiled. The indoor pools are beautiful and enjoyable, but they tend to be quite crowded, making it difficult to find available loungers.
Overall, the hotel is decent, but there is certainly room for improvement.

Spa services were not available as advertised, facility was clean but bathroom plumbing had a strange smell. Water in the pool was not thermal and we couldn’t even make reservations for spa services, tried three times and employees were not even available. In a great location and rooms have good space but don’t go with the expectation of using the “wellness” facilities for much.

We had a tournament event for our youngest in Maribor so decided to stay at the Habakuk because of the advertised spa area including sauna world. The location of the hotel is at the outskirts, amidst a lot of green - very nice. Arriving by car we went to the garage immediately - quite huge with several decks, but light, on the other hand, was scarce, which made finding the reception an adventure itself. Check in was smooth, and the room (a junior suite) was basically fine: A sleeping and living area separated by sliding doors, both rooms with enormous amounts of storage facilities. The room and the hotel are kept in a very good state, a lot of areas seem to have gone through renovation rather recently. The balcony stretched across both rooms and was accessible from both, too - nice view, but no chairs or tables there. The living room had a separate toilet, whereas the sleeping room offered the large ensuite bathroom with both a shower and a tub (which was a tad small). Toilet, bidet, and 2 sinks rounded this off. Unfortunately, the bed consisted of two mattresses and two blankets - big minus for us. A pity that there was no free water in the room (that should not be too hard to accomplish tbh). The biggest minus for us, however, was the spa experience - a minus on a high level, though. First of all, it only opens at 11am and you need to go downstairs to the spa area to acquire robes - why the robes are not waiting in the room already is unclear because you can just take them with you after the spa anyway. Second, the sauna area was separated by a practically see-through sliding door from the main pool area, and in there it was apparently expected to be unclad (clear signs with swimsuits crossed out) - with women and men not separated either, and the minimum age being 12 (admittedly, we dont usually care about the latter). This had nowhere been advertised, and it came unexpectedly and is not the way we like to enjoy saunas, to tell the truth. The sauna being one of the main reasons we chose the place somewhat spoiled it for us. We were not the only guests either who were taken by surprise by this. A lot of others refrained from using the sauna area thus. The pool area, on the other hand, was nice - interesting interior design with a lot of nooks and niches, various water temperatures and whirls - nice for relaxation, but not for real swimming. In the evening we had dinner at their restaurant. The wine was underwhelmingly OK (mariage from cabernet and merlot), but the food was a positive surprise. Both the tenderloin and the lamb shank were indeed excellent, great chef. Service was splendid. Breakfast was equally good, which was expected after the dinner - broad range of everything, fresh and tasty. Late checkout was fairly easily negotiated (with the room keycard not reprogrammed, though), and the spa area can be used after checkout, too. Small inconveniences took this review from 5 to 4, but since this is also a subjective opinion, another * taken for the missing sauna info (in which case we would have chosen a different place). For those who don't mind about the sauna and the occasional minor glitch, this place will not give them any regrets.

Excellent hotel, the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located right next to the ski slope and the wellness is also excellent. The rooms are large and clean. We usually don't go to the same place twice, but we think we will come back here.

Estadia começou muito boa, porém terminou de forma abrupta….isso mesmo… as 11 horas sem qualquer aviso prévio o sistema eletrônico deles desligou a energia eletrica do quarto, fechou as cortinas automaticamente e desligou as luzes, nos obrigando a sair imediatamente. Uma falta de respeito tremenda com o hospede. Piscina estava impossibilitada de ser utilizada devido a “tratamento da agua”. Café da manha bem fraco. Não recomendo.

Grosses, modern eingerichtetes Zimmer mit grosszügig bemessenem Stauraum, Tiefgarage, tolles Frühstück, freundliches Personal und ruhige Umgebung.

First time visit to Slovenia and feel like I have found a true hidden treasure and hit the jackpot here! What a stunning hotel the HOTEL HABAKUK is - in the most picturesque surroundings serviced by the most wonderful team of customer focussed and passionate staff. The facilities here are off the scale! Superb bars and restaurants, the most amazing leisure facilities with an indoor pool and spa of dreams! There are also super squash courts and a stunning gym fitted with high end equipment - The conference facilities are beyond spectacular with top spec AV and everything you would need for a corporate launch or event. A short taxi ride away from the Hotel is the beautiful city of Maribor - where you can while away the hours taking in the culture and heritage as well as a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants. from the Drava River to the the oldest vine in the world - a stunning cathedral, wonderful architecture - Maribor is a true hidden gem - Hotel Habakuk is located at the base of the Pohorje Mountain and during the winter months offers a first class ski in ski out facility - with the cable car 2 mins from the Hotel - A hikers paradise and some of the best vineyards you will find. We spent a wonderful few hours wine tasting and touring the underground tunnels of VIN AG which is well worth a visit. If you are looking to discover a true hidden treasure - Hotel Habakuk in Maribor will not disappoint - I am looking forward to coming back

Tolles Hotel immer wieder sehr gern

Haben ein Wellnesshotel gebucht, Wellnessbereich Innen war geschlossen und der Wellnessbereich Außen ist eine Baustelle. Für den Preis ist das eine absolute Frechheit, vorallem gab es keinerlei Informaton vor der Anreise und dort angekommen beim checkin dann das bittere erwachen.

Not a good time we had in Habakuk, wellness was unexpectadly closed before our arrival, nobody bothered to let us know or compensate. Very noisy ventilation! The room automatically switches of the lightsand they are unabble to switch on at 11am at the day of checkout, so if you are late, you cant see to pack your stuff.

We had a really nice and big room with fancy electronic gadgets. It was not heated up from the outside, so low temparature even as it was hot outside. Great breakfast buffet. Friendly Service personal. Nice location next to the bus and cable car station. We will come back.

Der er angivet, at der er aircondition, men dette var itu, så første værelse vi fik var med 28gr, og det eneste de kunne tilbyde var et med 23 gr.

Alles Super

The hotel was a wonderful place to stay. Nestled in the mountains it had a real country feeling. Only problem we had was the temperature in the room was to warm and the hotel could not fix the problem.

Świetne miejsce położene blisko kolejki linowej. Ogromne pokoje z dużą łazienką. Hotel zawiera super wyposazona silownie, ale najwiekszym plusem jest basen i sauna. W tym hotelu naprawdę mozna odpocząć i sie zrelaksować. Goraca polecajka!

I like very much the hotel after renovation, food it's very very good, service too, staff very friendly and supportive, clean, location is also very good as it has the forest behind so perfect for a walk.. we loved it :)

My review is not about the hotel, I didn't stay there.
I just wanted to use the spa. The water in the pool is average warm.
2 saunas out of 4 weren't working. The outside area is not in use. No cafe/ snack bar inside.
On the other side, the swimming pool is beautiful, all areas are clean, herbal tea and water stations available.
In 25€ for 4 hours the sauna blanket and a towel are included(for rent only).
The reception staff was nice and the hotel itself looked great:)
