When booking 10 or more rooms, please note the following conditions apply : full upfront prepayment, non-amendable and also nonrefundable in case of cancelation.

Please note that guests must be at least 16 years of age in order to be allowed to access and use all the SPA facilities. All Spa services including the Thalassotherapy circuit require a booking with advance (the Spa team must be contacted to do so). The Thalassotherapy circuit includes use of the treatment pool, turkish bath and sauna and costs 20€ per person, per access. The hotel does not have an indoor swimming pool.

The Spa is open daily, however on festive dates and bank holidays the opening times might be limited or the facilities might even be closed. Please contact the hotel directly for more details.

Pros:

Das Hotel verfügt über eine schöne Poolanlage (leider etwas zu wenig Sonnenschirme vorhanden) und hat eine hervorragende Lage.

Besonders positiv hervorheben möchten wir das Abendessen: Das Essen war wirklich ausgezeichnet und für uns eines der Highlights des Aufenthalts. Auch die schöne Terrasse, auf der man am Abend essen und anschliessend Cocktails geniessen kann, hat uns sehr gefallen. Einige Mitarbeiter waren ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam, insbesondere die Herren, die uns abends auf der Terrasse bedient haben.

Cons:

Im Vergleich mit anderen „Leading Hotels of the World“, die wir bereits besucht haben, konnte uns dieses Hotel nicht vollständig überzeugen. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie haben uns insbesondere die Liebe zum Detail und ein konstant hoher Servicestandard gefehlt. Dies zeigte sich beispielsweise an verwelkten oder bereits abgestorbenen Blumen, die unserer Meinung nach in einem Hotel dieses Niveaus umgehend ersetzt werden sollten.

Besonders enttäuschend war das Frühstück. Beim Check-in wurde es uns als Highlight angekündigt, unsere Erwartungen konnte es jedoch keineswegs erfüllen. Sowohl die Auswahl als auch die Präsentation des Buffets entsprechen unserer Meinung nach nicht dem Standard, den man in diesem Preissegment erwarten darf.

Auch beim Service gab es deutliche Unterschiede. Teilweise führten mangelnde Englischkenntnisse zu Formulierungen wie „What do you want to drink?“ oder „What do you want?“, was wir für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie als unpassend empfanden.

Sehr enttäuschend war zudem eine Situation beim Frühstück. Als wir gegen 10 Uhr nach einem Tisch draussen fragten, schaute ein Mitarbeiter auf seine Uhr und lachte über unsere Anfrage mit dem Hinweis, dass wir um diese Zeit keinen Aussenplatz mehr erwarten könnten. Er prüfte nicht einmal, ob ein Tisch verfügbar war. Eine freundliche und professionelle Antwort hätten wir in einem Hotel dieses Standards erwartet.

Location is unbeatable. Villa is definitely royal

Cons:

Some members of staff lack training. Restaurant staff is noisy and inattentive. Some of the equipment has aged badly (room service tables do not fully open). Pillows are hard.
Spa did not answer on-line requests for over 24 hours

Gorgeous property with heritage nestled on dramatic coastline with a buzzing town nearby.
Pros:

The hotel property is beautiful with a perfect pool. They even have their own falcon. You’re also in a great spot in Cascais as there are stacks of restaurants and things going on. You can whip into Lisbon on a coastline train even. Staff are great too. They’re friendly without being overbearing. I’ve stayed at lots of luxury hotels where you feel like you’re a celebrity because of all the greetings. Staff here manage the balance between attentive and not over the top. Hotel restaurant is amazing too. I like that water is free in the room and minibar. It’s a small touch that other high end hotels use as a means to extract a little more from you. It’s a very special combination of property and location. The fresh Atlantic air coming into the hotel is priceless. We really enjoyed our week here.

Cons:

These are small things but the hotel is clearly marketing at high end so here is what we noticed. Firstly, why no furniture on my balcony. Was totally wasted space and who doesn’t love sitting on a sunny balcony with your spouse? Most of the place is spotless. Marble everywhere. But things like the wooden cupboards show age. The shower was incapable of sealing meaning a bathroom flood every day. Not having an area inside the hotel to vape was really annoying. Even the outdoor restaurant. Bad decision. The ordering system by the pool needs work. I would have ate and drank a lot more if the area was properly staffed/ managed. Finally they need to address people ‘saving’ sun-beds. When we chose a spot with just a towel down we tossed it on the floor. But others may not be as ‘direct’. This also caused a minor confrontation with another patron. Given the price bracket of the hotel I was surprised at a few of these issues. None are deal breakers but they should not feature.

Other than not being able to reserve a spa day it was excellent.
Pros:

Everything went well. Was a bit disappointed that we could not book a massage even though we tried to reserve one on our first day there. It was booked till after we left. We were there for a week. Maybe get some more massues.

Nice breakfast buffet. The location is perfect if you like something quiet but also within quick walking distance to Cascais.

A superb, luxurious, chilled location to recharge by the sea !
Pros:

Location, immaculately maintained, relaxed vibes, excellent breakfast, superb spa, pool area and attentive staff (infused water, finer shots, refreshing tools to you choice of sent) and breathtaking views.

Cons:

Terrace area staff were slow, not as attentive and at times disinterested, waiting times for drink and food.
