Please note that guests must be at least 16 years of age in order to be allowed to access and use all the SPA facilities. All Spa services including the Thalassotherapy circuit require a booking with advance (the Spa team must be contacted to do so). The Thalassotherapy circuit includes use of the treatment pool, turkish bath and sauna and costs 20€ per person, per access. The hotel does not have an indoor swimming pool.
The Spa is open daily, however on festive dates and bank holidays the opening times might be limited or the facilities might even be closed. Please contact the hotel directly for more details.

Loved the attentive service and the people.
We had a wonderful stay at the Grande Real Villa Itália Hotel & Spa in Cascais and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly, warm, and attentive, and the welcome drink was a lovely touch that set the tone for our stay.
Our room was beautiful, with breathtaking views that we never got tired of waking up to each morning. The hotel itself is elegant, relaxing, and exceptionally well maintained.
We also loved spending time at the pool bar, where the food and drinks were excellent. It was the perfect place to unwind after exploring the area.
The location is another huge plus—it’s within easy walking distance of plenty of fantastic bars and restaurants, making it easy to enjoy everything Cascais has to offer.
Overall, a fantastic hotel with outstanding service, beautiful surroundings, and a great location. We had a truly memorable stay and would happily return.
Beautiful hotel with a great location in Cascais. The territory is well maintained, the breakfast was good, and the staff was generally polite. The room itself was comfortable, and overall the hotel has a premium atmosphere.
I booked a Luxury Suite, but upon arrival I was given a completely different room for the first two nights. This was very disappointing, especially considering the price difference and expectations.
Another issue was the smoking policy. IQOS is not allowed anywhere on the hotel grounds, and the only place where it could be used was inside the room, which felt quite unusual for a luxury hotel.
Room service and housekeeping were also much slower than expected. We had to wait a long time both for our orders and for the room to be cleaned after requesting housekeeping.
In addition, we were traveling with a child who was recovering from an illness. We specifically asked the housekeeping staff to keep the noise down during cleaning, but unfortunately the request was ignored and the cleaning was very loud.

We have just returned from another amazing week at the Grand Real villa italia
The hotel is superb sitting in an amazing location overlooking the sea in Cascais .
It is what I would call a relaxed five star hotel not pretentious whee guests are treated so incredibly well by a very professional team . The management run the hotel with total professionalism and are always visible and on hand . Some reports have said the hotel is a bit tired but from our experience the team are constantly working to improve and a building of that size will always require constant attention.

A very relaxing hotel. We enjoyed our stay and couldn't complain about the room we had. It was very spacious. Pool lovely and no rush for a sun bed although you always get some people who feel the need to reserve a bed before getting their breakfast. The breakfast was good although did get a bit bored towards the end. Could do with a better toaster. Overnight oats/bircher would be a lovely option. Unfortunately we were not a fan of the coffee. The coffee in the pots was far too strong and some of the other options were a bit weak. Tea was okay. Fortunately there are nespresso machines in the rooms. Great location and easy to walk into the town and marina. Our comments are all minor observations hence the Excellent score.

We loved Cascais, restaurants around, beaches and people. Amazing!
We did like the terrace and staff, breakfast as well.
Unfortunately the room was run down with stained carpets, not aesthetic plastic ceiling solutions..shower, towels and furniture seen better days..worn! Please see pictures.
Another topic is spa experience and spa concept, which does not suit to 5 star hotel. Spa - one medium indoor pool, hamman and sauna. Basically it is not included to room price. You have to book it per hour and pay extra. We misunderstood that, since we never payed extra for Pool and Sauna. The staff acted like cop unfortunately. Could be more polite and accommodating.
We want to mention again that tap water was musty smelling. Could be filter problem

All in all together, this hotel does not fulfill the 5 stars for us.
Great Location. Beautiful hotel. The pool area is fabulous with plenty of beds which were very comfortable.
Some staff were very good but others not so much too. Found them to be very focused on American tourists (looking for tips I presume) while neglecting others.
The rooms are stunning but At €620 a night I had to sleep on a camp bed. I would expect more for this money.
Great breakfast and pool area. Comfortable bed and pillows. Lovely suite in the Villa de Este building.
Booked this because it says adults only. No children allowed on the Booking.com listing however this is not true and needs to be changed. There were children in the pool playing ball games and jumping in from the sides. Only spoken to on our 3rd day after a complaint. Also says no pets. There was a dog in the pool on one occasion! Then wet sitting on sun lounge cushions. Yuck!!
