Good location (especially on this horrible island, we got really lucky), we had an ocean view room and, even if the pool was between us and the ocean, it was fairly quiet - except for a few hours here and there, when some parents with zero social awareness let their kids scream like crazy in an obviously chill and quiet place, with plenty of people around (apparently you can't have fun just laughing like a normal human being, screaming your lungs out it's a must).
We only eat organic (or wild, of course), so we needed a kitchenette, which was ok enough for us to cook everything we needed.
❗️If you need your towels changed, put them on the floor, otherwise the cleaning lady won't change them. The towels are white, fluffy and very clean (which is not a given, as it should be...).
❗️The parking lot is not right in front, but it's manageable. At first we were really upset about it, but then we realised it wasn't so bad, so if you have a car you should definitely rent a parking space, because parking in Madeira is PURE HELL.
❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️ Not related to the hotel, but most important: DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR IN A TAXI PARKING SPACE. They WILL slice your tires (at least 2 of them!!!!!). Yes, this is Madeira. You'll see. Horrible place, a giant tourist trap, although everyone seems to hate tourists.
✅️ If, however, you chose this island to waste your time and money, at least go to the furthest west point (the road to Farol da Ponta do Pargo is beautiful) and then to the furthest east point. Also, go to Sao Cristovao - it's absolutely beautiful there and worth every minute. Try the local beef skewers at the restaurant and then enjoy the most astonishing view at the cafe in front.
Weak wi-fi and also weak gsm signal - but the second one is not the hotel's fault.
Ontbijt erg goed, elke dag andere variatie.
We loved our room with a view on the ocean, also the breakfast terrace was amazing with 180 degrees view on the ocean. We enjoyed spa and pools a lot.
Please book your parking as soon as you arrive, since the space is limited, we were lucky to get one. The lunch and dinner buffet options were not as big as a breakfast one.
Breakfast was excellent—many choices.
Leaving
We booked our holiday in this hotel the week before our arrival, since our original plans were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. We couldn't be any happier or more grateful for our time here. We got a room upgrade, we initially booked a studio, but stayed in an amazing 1 bedroom flat with 2 bathrooms and the most amazing views. When I entered that room I felt like crying, it was a beautiful paradise with the Atlantic ocean right in front of us. The place is fully supplied with everything possibly needed in the kitchen, the beds were very comfortable, the pillows not so much, but we slept quite well. The pools are very nice, the indoor, heated pool is big and warm, and they offer free of charge a sauna and Turkish steam room. We didn't use the access to the beach because we preferred the nearby beach due to the waves and the cold of the Atlantic, but it seemed great and accessible. Breakfast was nice and varied, and the terrace where breakfast is served was stunning. All the staff are helpful and kind, especially the maids. We didn't have much trouble parking, but it's January - February. Although the one time we couldn't find a spot, we just left the car in the free parking lot next to the beach, just a 10m walk.
Great gym with lots of machines.
The gym is private, although free of charge, and it seems like the staff is not quite happy with hotel guests. They were not that welcoming when the first day I went to ask for the classes schedule, and the last day we used it, the person at the reception was quite rude. We chose this hotel for many reasons, but one important thing for us, since we are training for a big event, was the availability of the gym. We felt a bit bad since it was the only negative thing from a really amazing holiday
loved the first row ocean view!
spacious room, comfortable bed, well equipped kitchenette and more than enough storage for stuff
everything was super clean, would come again
i did not mind but my parents did: there's a lot of stairs to walk and the access to the ocean is not easy for older people
superb oceanview, quiet location, spatious room, super comfy bed, uncomplicated parking situation
i wished there were non-smoking balconies, the neighbour's cherry flavoured tobacco smoke was disturbing
wifi was not secured and unstable
The hotel overall as well as the room itself was very welcoming. Our room had a little kitchenette with everything we needed. The room had modern furniture and was of good size. The A/C was working very well. It is located right at the cliff and offers fun areas to explore. The hotel itself offers restaurants and there are some good food options in the area.
This is part of a larger hotel complex and walking distances to the front desk and amenities are quite far. Quite small pools and ocean access is only via the neighboring facilities. Not enough parking options for such a big hotel.
Spacious room with great bed and ocean view
Great spot with pics on @beeart.o ..I reviewed most Funchal spots for university
