If canceled before 7 days prior to arrival, the property will refund the deposit minus a cancellation fee.

Your total charges include all taxes and a $10 per night historic conservation fee. This fee supports maintaining our unique historic Victorian mansion and the Historic Preservation Commission of Santa Cruz, dedicated to maintaining the many historic buildings throughout the City.

Pets are allowed in this property upon request as long as they do not exceed the weight limit of 40 lbs. Please contact the property in advance. Additional fees may apply.

Our stay was very good
Pros:

Everything , it had an elegant bed and breakfast feel. There was a wine and cheese hour and breakfast was an assortment of interesting items all made in house.

Cons:

No air conditioning, not that we needed it but then the windows were open and we were on the 1st floor level with the wrap around porch.

A perfect staycation anniversary trip for me and my husband! We will certainly be visiting again!
Pros:

I loved the architecture of the home, friendliness of staff, and especially the provided food and drinks. The wine and cheese was excellent and the perfect thing to start off the evening. Our brunch was so delicious and filling we didn't actually need to eat again that day until dinner! We'd love to visit again.

Cons:

The bathroom could use a few more hooks for towels and hand towels. I think adding in a soft rug or additional blankets could make the room feel a little more cozy and luxurious, but I understand how that must be hard to maintain in a commercial space.

Pros:

Area was quite. Breakfast was good. Cookies tasted fantastic. Bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Parking is tight, not really enough space for a full size truck. Was a little stuffy in the room, there is no air conditioning, just fans. Shower head was a little small, could use a bigger one.

Pros:

Beautiful property! Amazing location. Parking on site. We could walk everywhere. Very friendly staff. Wonderful wine&cheese hour. Breakfast was delicious. Loved it!

Cons:

We never could get the fireplace to work, but it was warm so we really didn’t need it.

Unexpectedly world class.
Pros:

The breakfast is great, staff is amazing and very accommodating. We were even able to rent bikes and cruise around the area. It’s close to the boardwalk, but just far enough to have some peace and quiet. The sitting room looks out over the ocean and is truly amazing.

Cons:

Nothing, it is the perfect hotel!

Great location but expensive for the value
Pros:

We stayed at West Cliff Inn a week ago and were surprised to find it didn’t have air conditioning which means we had to choose to either be way to hot or leave the windows open and it be loud and bright. So while the beds were comfortable we didn’t sleep at all while we were there.

Proximity to the beach, Ward and board walk are amazing. However, someone did break into our rental car and steal $250 from our golf bag. That’s our bad for leaving clubs in the car but it is a bummer that the facilities are not secure in any way.

The breakfast is just a continental breakfast and is over marketed as something much fancier and one of the staff told me the wine and cheese is just from Costco so not local pairings as I would have expected.

Overall, it was advertised as a boutique experience but really it was pretty generic and just over priced for the location.

Cute hotel in Santa Cruz
Pros:

Cute boutique hotel in historic house. Walking distance to beach and boardwalk. Breakfast was decent, but had limited selections. Room was very spacious and had lovely little patio.

Cons:

Lack of AC was a bit of a challenge after a long hot workday and without screens on windows I ended up with a couple annoying flies in the room with me.

NOT SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS BEWARE
Cons:

Came for my dad's funeral needed an extra night, told I was comped, instead I was put in the most expensive room and given a 25% discount. When I return around 9pm that night from the funeral to park a $100,000 rental car there was no parking, three other separate parties staying at the hotel were in the same boat, when I called the emergency line for all of us, I was given massive attitude and told to kick rocks. When I woke up to attend the second service and check out in my rented suit I was charged an extra $700. This hotel went from being my happiest place on earth to the scum of it. Thank you for ruining my week. That extra $700 you took from me for a room that I entered at a blistering 87 degrees at 9 pm (NO AC EITHER THANKS GUYS) could have come in handy when I returned home from this funeral to find my car stolen. I will never come here again. Thanks Mary. Thanks Shantae.
