As a Hilton Honors member and having stayed during our California road trip at only Homewood Suites, I would rate this one not the best when it comes to customer service or the amenities. The 2 previous locations (Irvine and Sunnyvale) were def much better. First off, we arrived very late. The only good thing (aside from the room itself) was that they called me at 9:30pm to make sure we were still arriving bc we hadn't checked in yet. I assured him we would be there close to midnight so all was good. When we arrived, we were never given the pass to put in the car windshield and thankfully we weren't towed (but we did have a warning on the car). The guy checking us in should have given it to us and he didn't....it's not our responsibility to get that (they should have credited us the parking fee in my opinion). We got in late to the Irvine location as well, they not only waived our parking fee, they waived our late check out 1pm fee (and gave us 2 bottles of water). When we asked for a late check out upon arrival at this location, he said we had to call in the morning (never had to do this before). And then when I did, she wouldn't give us a 1pm check out unless we paid $50. So we opted for the complimentary 12pm. However.....we were bothered 2x BEFORE 12pm. I had to gently remind the housekeeper upon the 2nd disruption that we were checking out at 12pm and since it wasn't time yet to please stop knocking and disrupting us.
My fiance also had difficulty using the business center as the computer wasn't working properly (kept losing the connection).
The room itself was great. Very spacious and clean, however we wouldn't stay at this location ever again.
I met family there who came to go to all the nearby parks ( Legoland, Sesame Street World, San Diego Zoo) and we all had a wonderful experience. I stayed at the hotel during the day while they went out, and found the area perfect for walking and people-watching. It was a clean, safe and beautiful water-side hotel, the adjacent esplanade was enjoyable and soothing.
The morning breakfast offered a big variety of food, and on Wednesday night there was a huge spread for a free happy hour ( pork sliders, fruit, veggies, soup, cheese….brownies).
The staff was friendly and helpful. I had planned to drive to nearby locations, but was too comfy in and near the hotel.
What a great experience. Rooms were immaculate, the breakfast buffet was five-star, and the staff was beyond compare. Especially Liz, Max, and Aaron, they are awesome folks. Highly recommend.
Lå i rolige omgivelser med muligheter for gåturer, men samtidig bare noen km unna downtown. Likte også at de hadde frokost samtidig som vi hadde fullt kjøkken på rommet.
Kanskje litt dyr parkering av egen bil

We stayed here for one week. Me, my husband and my teenage daughter. From the moment we checked in to the day we checked out everyone we encountered was wonderful. The front desk associates answered our questions all week long with a smile. The room was beautiful and clean. It’s so nice to have a full kitchen in your hotel room in case you decide to eat in. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans, etc. The cleaning crew were very friendly as well. There is a free airport shuttle (on demand) and the drivers were friendly and helpful as well. Breakfast options were very good with differing choices daily which included a Mexican specialty. The hotel is perfectly situated near major tourist attractions. This hotel is located in the neighborhood of Liberty Station. Liberty Station is a wonderful neighborhood made up of outstanding restaurants and shops and a Public Market. We were not bored at all either so much to see and do.
This was a great home base for our family's five night winter break trip to San Diego. The hotel is in an excellent location - it's nicely situated on the water, quiet (despite being close to the airport) and very close to Trader Joe's, making it easy to buy groceries to prepare meals in our room. I especially appreciated that there's a popular running/walking trail behind the hotel that passes right under the flight path to San Diego International - as an aviation geek, it was a real treat to go running on this trail every morning directly underneath the jets taking off and landing from the airport. Breakfast was excellent with varied options each day, so our family of four always started the day with full stomachs. It was easy to drive to everywhere we wanted to visit, including Legoland, Balboa Park and the USS Midway Museum. The staff was uniformly friendly and kind. Finally, I thought the rate we paid was quite reasonable. Would definitely stay here again on our next family trip to San Diego.
The room was nice and the staff was great. The location was also great
The price was a little high but everything is in San Diego
This place was mostly excellent. Being picky, the air conditioning and fridge/freezer in the room were noisy. Airport noise was not a problem.
The building set-up is weird. 2 separate buildings with the reception and breakfast building sitting between the two but not linked so you have to go outside when you move between them,
The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
Love the location.
Appreciate the breakfast.
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
We had a balcony king suite, and the bay views were incredibly relaxing! The bedroom was separate with a second TV. The hotel was very clean, and a full complementary delicious breakfast was provided daily. There was a full sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, and dish washer. The staff, from the cleaning crew, dining, and desk personnel, were very friendly and efficient. It's probably the best hotel experience we have ever experienced in our 50 years of traveling!!
The chairs at the in room dining table need to be replaced with new ones (they are worn and uncomfortable) and should be equipped with roller wheels.
