Love this place! The location is amazing — walking distance to the Midway Museum, with plenty of great parks and scenic trails along the canal.
Room was clean and large, breakfast was included and excellent, and the grounds were beautiful.
When we got there, the hotel didn't have our reservation, even though I had the confirmation number from Booking.com! However, the hotel staff were outstanding and found us a room and did not double charge me. Note: Always carry your confirmation number and receipt that you've paid.
Chose this location after a stay at the Courtyard next door 2 months prior before traveling abroad for several months. Loved the proximity to the airport after a 14 hour flight home as well as a Starbucks and several restaurants within walking distance.
So glad that j did, Sarabeth was absolutely amazing and her hospitality and warmth went above and beyond. It was honestly the type of service that is reserved for 5 Star stays. This hotel is lucky to have and should cherish her. Needless to say, the staff gave us an exceptional welcoming back home to the states.
The room was immaculate and well appointed. We reserved a one bedroom bay view king suite and it was perfect for our needs.
Made use of the full side fridge and stove. Pool and hot tub were a plus.
Giving this hotel a 5 star review but as feedback must advise that the breakfast buffet deserves more of a 3 star review.
We were dissaponted at the lack of options of pastries & very sadly prepared food. Only things we found edible were the scrambled eggs, apple and a slice of toast and therefore visited Trader Joe’s & Vons (a 3 min drive from the hotel) for groceries to prepare breakfast in the hotel room kitchen the second morning of our stay so this could use improvement. However, that aside, I would and do absolutely intend to repeat a stay here in the future.
Breakfast was great!
The walking path next to the hotel was very beautiful.

The smell of cleaning reagents was very strong and cause us having headaches

Great extras not a regular hotel breakfast
Every thing was delicious
I like everything .
Great customer service and clean rooms.
The basketball court is made open to the public. The noise is a bit disturbing, especially for those staying on first floor.
Location picked for proximity to Sea World and it is close. Also we are grandparents who had 3 toddlers so we were happy to have the suite and kitchen. I was happy the facility had the digital key option as we were arriving in the evening after a visit to the Zoo.
Hopefully someday comfort height toilets will be the norm. (Smile) The TVs (bedroom/living) are on the same wall so the remote control is able to unintentionally operate both. Fitness room elliptical machine was not working.
Location to airport
The room had a heavy chemical smell that took hours to go away
As I was only there one night I tolerated it - I spoke to the lady in lobby next morning who told me I could have called in advance to avoid smell - I looked puzzled having traveled a lot I don’t normally go to hotels and make such a request
The room was clean and there was plenty of room for 3 of us. The breakfast was fine. I would have preferred to have oatmeal every morning but overall there was very good selection of food. The location of the hotel was excellent. Very close to resturants and the MCRD. There was also a very nice walking and jogging path next to the hotel.
The work out facility was very small.

Breakfast
Stayed there for a week before Christmas as Lifetime Diamond. We had three paid rooms. I called the day before arrival and spoke with Allison to request all the rooms on the same floor (it was just easier especially with two young kids) and she was nice enough to help make that happen. That was appreciated. Hotel itself was nice. Grounds were kept well. Breakfast was exceptional for a Hilton Homewood Suites. Most of the staff were friendly. I had one problem during my stay. After being there for several days and not having my room cleaned, I called the front desk at 8:40 am one day and asked that one of the rooms be cleaned by the end of the day. It didn't need a deep clean but it needed attention and I was told that I missed the 8:00 am cut off. I asked if they could make an exception because I wasn't aware and the room really needed it (the cutoff was just 40 minutes earlier so I don't think I was being unreasonable). I even mentioned that I was lifetime diamond and pleaded for an exception. I asked if I could speak to housekeeping myself. Max wouldn't budge and after spending over $5,000 for the stay, it was just unacceptable and that is when I called Hilton. They wanted to file a formal complaint against the property to ensure future guests didn't have the issue I had but I told them I really didn't want to do that. All I wanted was to have my room cleaned. They obliged and it was cleaned but as a result of that incident and Max's attitude, I will be staying elsewhere next time we are in San Diego.
