Sunstays Lagoon Beach

We stayed in the apartment part of the hotel, which was a long walk from the hotel itself along long corridors. Reception was poor on arrival, no WiFi connection in the apartment only in the hotel bar. A bit sad and improved cleaning of patio would help

It is right on the beach, great views of the ocean, Table Mountain, MyCity bus stop close by, good response to needs before arrival and during our stay

We stayed in apartment 220 which had fantastic sea views from the lounge and the
Double bedroom.

No Sunstays branding either inside or outside the hotel. This made finding the right building and receptionist very slow. They did mail me asking me to warn them of my arrival but I did not pick up that mail. The reception looks nothing like the photo on hotels.com
The room are as advertised
The pools were shut due to the water shortage
The hotel facilities were not all available to us. We couldn't use the gym for example. I found this frustrating
It is a big site. A map would have helped. Staff not particularly helpful.

Hotel looks ordinary upon arrival and reception area is quite odd but the room was spacious and was right on the beach- I mean on th beach!

This hotel had every thing bars resturrants near by golf club shopping mall bus to Cape Town city center and water front nice happy staff I will be back here again

Good location, but condition of the apartment was not up to standard in this proce category; staff responded to complaints poorly. We were told that there were three pools, but they were difficult to find. When we finally reached the hotel, we were requested to pay a deposit of R200 for the towels, which we of course did not have with us (walking around in swimming outfit). The attitude of the receptionist did not show any customer friendlyness, and we finally gave up.
I would not recommend this apartment.

Fantastic location - Our apartment was right on the beach with beautiful views of the mountains and ocean
The apartment was close to the city, canal walk and other attractions, very well situated to explore Cape Town and surrounds
The apartment was clean and well equipped and we had a very comfortable stay

dissapointed on the service level i received - as i paid for wifi but over the 3 nights stay - this was not working. i raised this each day with reception and it was it will be fixed, but at the end of the stay no joy. i raised this on departure and i was offered the contact details of the IT service provider - why ?? i wanted some compensation in cost as i had paid for wifi in the price of the stay.

Only complaint, the dryer in the apartment would not work.

View from our room was the beach. Free shuttle available to take you to the Victoria and Alfred Water Front. Lounge and restaurant in the attached hotel. Travel coordinator there too.

Two bedroom apartment had lots of room and 2 bathrooms were convenient. We had a great view from our balcony. It was in a good location. Thai restaurant within walking distance. Easy pick up and drop off location for Uber drivers. Easy to get to City Centre and all other sight seeing locations.

Staff were excellent and friendly. Apartment was convenient to beach and central Cape Town. Free garage parking helpful. Washer/dryer made laundry easy. Like home away from home

This hotel is literally on the beach, which is lovely! It was wonderful to wake up to the gorgeous African sunrise and to fall asleep to the beautiful African sunset. Upon booking, I was not aware that there were two different hotels at the same location. Our location could use updating, for our apartment did not have air conditioning, the Wifi service was very bad & the front door of our apartment had trouble closing. Overall though, the apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. I spent a lovely afternoon at the spa at the hotel and had one of the best massages I have ever had! The restaurants on the premises are good as well and the ocean and mountain views are breathtaking!

My stay at Sunstays was amazing . Rate will be 100%.Unfortunately the hotel staff wasn't welcoming and service at the bar was'nt very friendly and they attitude didn't make me feel welcome at first

We were 3 adults and a child (4) during this trip, we decided to rent a car to move around. I will start with the things I liked. 1) Really good location when you have a car, near everything, even the cheap supermarkets. 2) Self catering, the kitchen was good for those days we wanted to finish left overs from the awesome restaurants and we even had a supermarket walking distance to get more food (the area around supermarket was kind of iffy) ; 3) Access to the beach, and you could go for walks and for my kid enjoy the sand. Clean area around it, even though it was relatively close to the port. 4) Spacious apartment, basically for sleeping and having breakfast in our case. The things I disliked 1) My husband lost his passport, we do not know whether it was in the hotel or outside, but we did try to call from the airport on our way to Joburg. The first manager did not even want to go and look to see if the document was in the room. The second manager at least asked someone, or so he said he did. I emailed the reservation person, she never even replied to me. I was hoping for more empathy at least. 2) Internet. horrible! They said they had but it was not working most of the time. We did not think of getting a data plan, so we had to struggle to get just whatsapp every now and then. I wanted to use it to plan better. 3) We asked for a cot for our son (he did not want to sleep without us) they did not have anything but a baby bed, they also sell adapters, very expensive!.

We had a wonderful with my family, we found ourselves a new home in Cape Town, will definitely go back on our next visit to Cape Town, my kids loves it
