Large room. Comfortable beds. Good size tv. Bathroom fine.
Just two tea bags and four tiny milks for two people! Asked for more and they brought them to the room.
No water in the room in the morning. Shower stopped halfway, my husband was covered in soap with no way to rinse. No water to flush the toilet, no water to wash hands. No water to brush teeth, no water to make tea. Not rude but indifferent attitude from staff, they might as well have just shrugged their shoulders. We had to repeatedly ask at reception to find information about the water loss. We independently tracked down unused toilets on the floor. I met other guests also searching. After the one flush, stilll no way to wash hands. I used the hotel swimming pool and the showers still worked. So could they have offered us another room on another floor with water??? Manager on site was "Unable" to offer a refund. Senior manager was supposed to phone me. He has not contacted me. No phone call. No email. 🤷
Bed were SO comfortable. Food was super.
Ample parking.
Remote location. Poor organisation during a fire alarm.
€132 B&B.
Clean room, decent bed & bathroom.
Room 312 has a fuse box in the corner by the door which hums and buzzes and kept breaking my sleep.
At dinner, the whole of the Dining Area had to listen to World Cup commentary. Most couldn’t see the match. I suspect the pensioners tour trying to chat to each other were equally unimpressed.
0730 as I came to leave there’s a group of lads rowing by the front door.
Everything, friendly and very helpful staff. Food outstanding very clean room, highly recommend....
A very dirty hotel room. I will never return to experience anything like what I did on Thursday 25th June 2026.
Not worth the price I paid of €165 whether it be through the hotel or booking.com.
The hotel room carpet was filthy and dirty marks and stains all over it. The windows havent been washed and are full of cobwebs. The bed mattress was terrible and very flat. The shower head was like a telephone receiver, very outdated.
I saw plates in a dining area full of finger prints.
I spoke and made my point about the price of the room for which didnt include breakfast. This is not peak time and it was a Thursday night not a weekend night. Whether I book through the hotel or booking.com your prices are ridiculous. Your not worth 1 star. Remember the customer is always right and deserves a better standard than you offer!!!
Nice central location very very close to the town. Nice family sized rooms on the ground floor. We always choose the Great National Hotel when we’re in Ballina. During our stay, the hotel was hosting a wedding, we were completely undisrupted.
Had a lovely time at your hotel. Lovely staff . Would like to see more snack type food on your menu as we don’t eat big meals anymore also fruit salad for breakfast . Plugs in wrong place in rooms should be long side beds…. A shuttle service bus would also be handy for in -out to town as not everyone drives anymore. Thank you.
I got no breakfast for the price I paid which was €165 and on a Thursday night. Not in peak time yet.
Rotten hotel. Floors/carpets dirty and stained. Windows never washed. Bed springs broken. Shower like a telephone receiver. Absolutely rotten
I want half my money back for the dirt I had to live in for the night
