I recently stayed at The Savoy Hotel and, while the location and overall atmosphere remain very good, this visit wasn’t quite as enjoyable as my previous stay. There was a noticeable smell in the room, which affected the overall comfort.
I’m hoping this was just a one-off issue, as I’ve had a better experience here before and would love to see it return to the high standard expected of a 5-star hotel.

I had previously booked direct and booked via booking on this trip much cheaper rate via booking which disappointingly reflected on the room
We didn't have breakfast because it was too expensive.
Water was all over the floor after shower. It must have been coming out from under shower door during shower. Room 310. Forget to tell reception when leaving.
The hotel lobby was nice, staff were friendly The bed was comfortable and we had a good sleep so that was positive.
I think we got unlucky maybe, but our room was disappointing. It was on floor 7 - room 11, it had a dirty shower, there was clearly a shower door removed and instead a flimsy tension rod was effectively the shower door they fell down mid shower ,maybe the tension rod as the shower door is temporary and they will replace it but it’s just not what you expect in a 5 star. We wanted to use the available robes however
They had previous guests hair in them.

So disappointed mould in the bathroom heating in room didn’t work called reception twice first time they told us we were setting it wrong second time the brought us a oil filled radiator then we finally got moved to another room
Excellent location and facilities, and helpful staff. The Savoy is one of my go-to places whenever I visit Limerick City and it constantly offers excellent service.
The temperature in the room could not be lowered. It was very warm overnight
The bed was very comfortable, the food was also delicious, great service
