Breakfast was very inconsistent when they had bigger function on inhouse they put a bit of effort into buffet.
Some staff were really amazing but management was poor
We were upgraded to the top level from our panoramic room booking. It looks like this room was recently renovated. Great views to irikiri & beyond. Would recommend going elsewhere for food. We had the buffet breakfast & the offering was pretty poor for the price.
The Grand has a matrvellous view of Port Vila harbour, so right down town. The food is generally good. I particularly like the cauliflower curry at lunch. The looby area is nice and are with plenty of sitting spaces and a convenient bar.
The week I was there the hot water was out 2-3 days. One evening I had to swim in the pool just to get clean. Breakfast can sometimes be rather lower qulity some days than others. Im not keen on casinos but there was never any disturbance.
We found the room got too hot as air conditioner wasn’t working properly

Was very disappointed that the pool was closed and that this wasn’t advertised online nor their website. The pool area was the main reason for my booking here. Had mates that cancelled their booking day of as they saw it was closed. I asked staff and the said it would be running the next day. It was not

Hotel and staff were fab, our only issue was the pool was out of action for maintenance. I know this needs to be done but when a main part of your holiday plans was to laze around a pool it did put a dampener on things. You could go over to Iririki Island to have a swim in the pool but at $25 per person it’s not feasible for the duration of the holiday.
Vouchers should have been offered, or at least an email explaining and giving the option to rebook somewhere else.
The Hotel and location are great, our issue was that next door to the hotel is a shipping dock and a shipyard, a barge was continuously running a bilge pump, and the ship yard continuously banging on the hull renovating an old ship, in turn very noisy during the day and night especially if out on the balcony.
Breakfast was good and most of the time it has variety. Staff are fantastic.The omelette bar was the best as the other hot food is in bain-marie and is not as good.
Great room and fabulous views of the bay. I loved waking up in the morning and watching the boats going up and down the bay.
Great hotel with a historic feel. Rooms appear to be recently renovated and clean. The staff are amazing. Every single one had the biggest and most welcoming smile. Really enjoyed my stay.

This is a perfect spot to stay in the heart of Vila. Close to the markets and an easy walk to all that Vila has to offer. The pool and pool area are a great place to relax with a cold tusker. Like all places in Vanuatu, the staff is what makes the stay special. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The food at the restaurant was also fantastic. Overall I would recommend if you want to stay in the heart of Vila.
