Ocean Creek Resort

We stay here every year, and have been vacationing at Ocean Creek for over 10 years. Never disappoints 10/10 - highly recommend!! Staff is friendly, quick check-in and check-out . Fun fact: On one of my walks, the squirrel actually posed for a photo op. ✌️😊

Beautiful room in lodge 3 west and the host was great. However the resort as a whole is lacking. The beach bar is only opening “weather permitting”, meaning if they feel like staffing it or not. It isn’t even raining anymore. Same with the tram, weather permitting. The tram should be available and running during all hours for all guests so they don’t have to walk in the rain. Take this amenity off your website Ocean Creek. Last time I was here, the tram driver was socializing while my elderly family member was waiting for a ride to beach.
Pools are nice and open. Clean.

The Ocean Creek Resort is a great spot for vacationing at the beach! It has beautiful landscaping and the entire property is beautiful but simple. You can even catch the Tram down to the beach.

We had a great stay! This family-friendly resort offers multiple pools, including a large pool with a swim-up bar, easy beach access, comfortable rooms, and safe balconies for kids. I also loved having a full kitchen, which made it easy to prepare breakfast and meals each day. The resort is quiet, safe, and provides convenient beach parking so you don’t have to carry all your gear.

There are a few areas that could be improved. The smart key system was unreliable—we had to replace our key cards twice, and only one of the four cards consistently worked. I also wasn’t a fan of having to take used towels to the main office to exchange them, though I understand the reason and hope they improve the housekeeping process.

Overall, the excellent value, peaceful atmosphere, and family-friendly amenities far outweigh these minor inconveniences. I would definitely stay here again! It is worth it!

We also really enjoyed the entertainment provided by the animation team, and the Kids Club and pool facilities were excellent. Our two-year-old son had an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

The atmosphere was good. Some things were broken. It needs to be updated

This is the second family vacation we have stayed at ocean creek resort. We love the privacy we received by housekeeping only comes when we requested it. We was close to the private beach, Walmart, local restaurants and exciting things to do.

This resort was so nice. The beach was walking distance and almost private. Access to all the pools was so awesome!! Right across from shopping and lots of places to eat. It was a great family beach gateway!! Will for sure be back!

We just wrapped up another fantastic stay at Ocean Creek Resort, and it remains one of our favorite family-friendly spots. We have stayed in the Towers many times over the years and absolutely love them. However, this year we needed a 3-bedroom layout, and since there wasn't one available in the Towers, we opted for one of the Tennis Villas (3-bedroom, 2-bath).
We were happy with the experience! Here is what made our stay so great:

• The Villa: The unit was clean, roomy, and provided adequate space for our family. Parking right at the Tennis Villas was excellent and super convenient.

• The Property: The pools on-site were clean and well-maintained. The gated property is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, making it a perfect retreat for families.

• The Trolley: A huge shoutout to the golf cart trolley service! It makes getting around the expansive property a breeze, and the attached carts for beach gear are a lifesaver when you're hauling chairs and coolers.

• Location: You genuinely cannot beat the location. It is right across the street from Barefoot Landing and minutes away from fantastic restaurants, live shows, and local activities.

Ocean Creek offers a very reasonable price for the quality, location, size, and peaceful atmosphere you get in return. Whether you are staying in the Towers or the Villas, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back!

Facilities were very clean and furnished nicely.

The staff delivered outstanding service with a warm welcome. The check-in and check-out processes were efficient and courteous. The cleanliness of the resort was exceptional. The location was easy to find. The area surrounding the resort was stunning and peaceful. I was immediately impressed by the resort's extensive amenities and enjoyed my stay.

I booked this resort for my 12-year wedding anniversary, and unfortunately, I would not recommend staying here.

Cons:
Multiple hidden fees, including:
- $10 per day parking fee despite an abundance of available parking
- $39 damage waiver fee (covering up to $1,000 in damages) or an additional $250 credit card hold
- 3% credit card processing fee (which can only be avoided by paying in advance with a debit card)

- Outdated room furnishings
- Strong musty odor from the carpet, reminiscent of an old basement
- Very small toilet
- Extremely hard and uncomfortable bed (caused neck and back pain)
- No USB charging ports
- Missing basic amenities such as coffee filters and dish soap
- Roaches throughout the hallways and stairwells, with notices posted on each floor regarding the issue

We stayed in Villa #2329 on the third floor for reference. While the room itself appeared clean, the unpleasant odor made it difficult to enjoy our stay.

The attractions and activities in Myrtle Beach were wonderful, but our experience at Ocean Creek Resort was disappointing. After reading many positive reviews mentioning cleanliness, I can understand why—that was one of the few positives we encountered.

I hope this review helps others who are considering accommodations in Myrtle Beach. Based on our experience, I would recommend exploring other options.
