Superb 1-night stay
Pros:

This hotel is fabulous, a beautiful location, friendly staff, superb rooms and facilities. The room we had was outstanding in terms of cleanliness, decor, amenities and comfort. Before our stay the hotel manager rang welcoming us and seeing if we were celebrating a special day. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening as we had already made other plans, but breakfast was presented lovely, well cooked, and not too much or too little.
I would highly recommend and would return. Customer service at its best, we were even given a little doggie bag of fruit, protein bars and drink for our journey home. Very rhoughtful.

Poor facilities
Pros:

Location lovely.
Nice room but dark, at the back of the hotel. Not enough light in the room especially when the weather is so gloomy.
The hot food at breakfast was luke warm.
Coffee tepid.
Selection on cold buffet not so good second morning.
Spa was one of the main issues.
Pool and jacuzzi out of action on a wet miserable Sunday. No treatments available to book the entire 2 night stay. Having paid a premium to stay here we were very disappointed.
Just a shrug of the shoulders by way of apology.
Will not be returning. Poor response.

Miserable stay.
Pros:

The location was stunning.
Beautiful views
Bed comfortable

Cons:

The room was dark, not enough light. No out look
At the back of the building.
Hot food at breakfast was tepid. Buffet variable. Not much variety on the second morning.
Having paid a premium for this hotel so we had spa facilities we couldn't use the pool or jacuzzi during our stay as it was out of action.
We were not offered a reduction on our bill. Just bad luck.
Given that it was January and the weather was wet, miserable and cold the spa was our only reason for booking this hotel.

A real gem
Pros:

Well situated, with excellent staff and outstanding food. Hotel had an individual feel rather than ‘just part of a chain’ lots of nice touches, like water to take out each day.

Cons:

The lighting in the lounge and our room was very dim which meant we had to use our phone torches to read!
