Beautiful place, good food and brilliant staff
Long way from anywhere - but in a beautiful valley
It was wonderful a beautiful setting
Beautiful building in a lovely countryside location. The staff were all great. We were there to celebrate my 50th birthday and the hotel very kindly upgraded us to a fantastic room with big bay windows and lovely views. Breakfast was great quality. We also very much enjoyed using the nice pool / jacuzzi area.
We were a bit disappointed to find the restaurant served exactly the same menu as the bar and room service (pub type dishes in the main such as sandwiches, burgers etc). Would have hoped for something more refined given the nature of the hotel.
Gym was small and a bit cramped.
Everything
Nothing to dislike
Setting, staff and comfort. Pool was a real bonus
Nothing
The property is a refreshing break from city life, out in rural Yorkshire, but close to Leeds. The staff are friendly and very flexible, with great support for our dog during our stay.
I found the beds a little small as 6ft+
Stayed for one night and had a great time.
We were in the Willow suite which is lovely and fabulous views.
We used the pool and steam room, which were small but fine for what we needed.
We had food from the bar menu and ate in the drawing room, service was excellent and the food was good.
Breakfast selection and quality were also very good.
Comfortable spacious room
Service at breakfast slow
We have stayed here lots of times and it never disappoints us. The hotel is beautiful with fabulous views from the
rooms at the front. It is a peaceful oasis! The staff are excellent and make you feel like a special guest.
We always eat in the restaurant and did do on this occasion. The menu was slightly different than usual but the food and service were as excellent as
ever. Breakfast service has also changed slightly but the quality is still spot on.
The pool and spa area are also worth a visit. We enjoyed a swim, hot tub and steam room as always.
This remains our favourite hotel for a quick getaway - we don't live faraway but enjoy a night of luxury every now and again!
Beautiful elegant building lovely country location room and all public spaces luxurious.

Location
Spa wasn’t big enough
We used to own a 150 cover restaurant so we do know a little about hospitality. My husband and I talked about our experience and we noted that it was a true hospitality experience. Great knowledge from staff, Richard great recommendations, excellent food in the restaurant. Understood my ceoliac requirements with no fuss at all. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be back.
Room was great and had great views.
Steam room could be hotter, gym need more equipment. Offer some class e.g water aerobics , yoga classes
