Great location, friendly staff went the extra mile.
No concerns everything great.
no breakfast when we are there the last time we stayed.
Clean and quiet with easy access to the refuge, restaurants, and town. Our room was clean, quiet and recently painted. The management was actively painting and updating the landscaping for the tourist season. Quiet nights.
Everything worked for our purpose; no complaints.
I love the gentleman who runs the place; he is so friendly, kind and helpful.
I also love the look and feel of the room, with the wood rafters and general coziness.
It was clean and tidy, and overall a very pleasant stay!
Nothing.
The room was unique, comfy, and clean.
The guests below us were loud
The breakfast was unexpected...we were allowed to eat breakfast the day we arrived even though we signed in early with many choices from which to choose. We came to see the ponies 100th run and even tough we made reservations only a few weeks before the event we were able to get the night we needed (the last room available)
beds too soft and lumpy
The location was good.
The breakfast was subpar, coffee was extremely weak. Our room had an ant infestation and the A/C was noisy. There was no one at the front desk to check us out at 7:30am.
I stayed here for a quick overnight business trip, and overall, it did the job. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming — easily the highlight of the experience. The room itself was clean and comfortable enough for a short stay, but it felt like a time capsule from the 1980s. The furniture and decor haven’t seen an update in decades, and unfortunately, that extended to the bathroom, where the toilet had been "repaired" with what looked like heavy-duty tape — not exactly a professional fix. That said, for a one-night stopover, it was sufficient. Just don’t expect modern amenities or finishes.
I loved the location, and the value of the stay. The pool was great. It was nice a deep unlike some other pools. In walking distance to many good restaurants and a dollar store in case you forgot anything.
I didn’t try the breakfast but it looks like they had a waffle maker. A great donut place is right across the street.
I would say overall it was clean, but they need to pay closer attention to detail. There was dust on the wall, top of the tv furniture, and dirty light switches. Some of the furniture had white stains on it and look like they could’ve been cleaned off (I just didn’t use this piece of furniture) the floors also really needed a sweep/ vacuum and a swifter taken to them.
The room was so cute, the wood paneled walls, hard wood floors, ceiling beams. Bedding was very pretty.
The pillows and mattress weren’t the most comfortable, fridge and microwave were outdated and would prefer a covered seat on the toilet.
The location was perfect. The pool was very clean and well kept. The staff provided us extra towels and were very kind.
Our shower curtain had the smell of mildew and our refrigerator needed defrosted. Otherwise, all went well.
The breakfast was fine for our needs. It would be nice if we could get it starting at 7am instead of 8am. We like gettingto the beach earlier in the am.
Very good breakfast, clean room, and friendly staff. We had a smart tv where we could connect our Netflix and Disney accounts. Location is perfect to go to the beach in assateague island.
Convenience
Bed was uncomfortable
I’m pretty easy going. It had two beds and a hot shower. It appeared clean. The ice machine worked extremely well and gave nice, shaved ice. Many hotels had a 2-3 day minimum since it was the week of the pony transport and auction. So the single night as we were just passing through was convenient.
The ac in our room periodically started making noise. Also, we along with many are early risers. Breakfast at 8 is a bit inconvenient. I prefer 6:30-7:00….nothing to do with the property, but I was a tad disappointed we didn’t get to see free roaming horses. I read what was happening with the beach walk/swim but didn’t realize exactly what was happening. That’s the reason we diverted our trip to go there. It was a very expensive miscalculation. Advice to anyone going during that week, understand FULLY what happens so you’re not booking tours etc where you won’t see any horses
