Pros:
- friendly welcome and fare well
- staff is very friendly
- clean rooms (currently there are two different kinds of rooms available: the so called ‚new style‘ rooms and the ones that will be renovated soon). We had the later one and recognized that also this room was clean.
- outstanding breakfast (antipasti, pizza bites, cheese, mortadella, fresh fruits, cornetti and great choice of bread, cakes, including vegan ones). Not known from other Italian hotels.
Cons:
- small TV
- only very few parking spaces onside; during night guests parked their cars in the fire lane. Curb parking possible but sometimes challenging as guests from neighboring buildings also do
- bus stop in front of the hotel is operated only during peak season
Staff was amazing! Andreas at the bar and Andrea at the Reception were both helpful and welcoming.
When I checked in, the room toilet had not been flushed. Asked the staff about it. there was no follow-up. The toilet also would not stop running and the staff thought that was normal. I had to press a second button to stop, how dumb. The evening check-in man was nice, but the woman in the morning was kind of rude. I did like the bike rental.
New room
Good selection of food at breakfast,
Staff all very helpful and friendly.
My room was recently re done and was beautifully done.
Perfect location. The best breakfast ever, with a lot of Italian traditional dishes. The 3 hours free rent a bike is perfect to visit Sirmione without parking stress.
Clean hotel, it has a great location, friendly staff who take care of you and a wonderful view of the lake from our balcony.
Walkable to everything and staff very friendly
Excellent *****
We have stayed 5 days (25.9-30.9.25) at Hotel Azzurro. A really lovely experience.
Smiles, friendliness and super clean everywhere in the hotel - and the breakfast buffet delicious and inviting.
We can and would like to give Azorro our best recommendations.

My Wife and I have just returned from a wonderful week at Hotel Porto Azzurro in Sirmione, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. The location is ideal, tucked away in a quiet part of Sirmione but close enough to explore the beauty of Lake Garda with ease. It’s a leisurely 30 to 40 minute walk to the port of Sirmione and around 10 minutes to a good selection of bars, restaurants gelato and a supermarket [COOP].
The pool area is spacious, well maintained with plenty of sunbeds and chairs, and a lovely spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast offered a generous and varied selection, with something to suit every taste, a great way to start each day.
We had a hire car during our stay, and parking was straightforward. The hotel has a car park that caters for around a dozen vehicles and there’s also free street parking available just outside which was very convenient if the carpark was full or busy.
All the staff members were friendly and attentive, from the front of house, restaurant staff and cleaners with a special mention to Andrea the barman, He greeted guests with a warm smile every time, remembered everyone’s orders, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. His thoughtful service andpatience with my pigeon Italian added a personal touch that made a real difference, thank you Andrea.
If you're looking for a peaceful, well run hotel with genuine hospitality, Hotel Porto Azzurro is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back.
Everything was great
Having been to Sirmione previously, we were aware of the restrictions on 4-wheel vehicles in the town and the difficulty finding parking. This hotel is perfectly located slightly in the suburbs, with free parking and free bicycles for cycling quickly into town. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with helpful, friendly staff. A few areas are looking a little tired but we were advised that plans are in place for refurbishment this winter. Overall we had a very enjoyable 3-night stay; and we would certainly stay there again.
Exceptional breakfast buffet,
Shuttle to the old town just across from the hotel, free hotel parking, very helpful staff, overall an exceptionally run hotel, will definitely stay there again.
We had a lovely stay at HoteLovely hotel and good location, bars and restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was cleaned daily. Pool area
We spent 6 days here in the middle of our 3 centre holiday. Great location with easy access to the old town and to loads of restaurants. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Lovely pool with enough sunbeds. Large breakfast area with indoor and outdoor tables. Good selection of continental breakfast options and the hot food choices, although limited were adequate. Shuttle bus stop is right at the door to get to the old town or connect with buses to other nearby towns including Verona.
Our only (slight) negative was the lack of a light on the balcony but we still managed to play cards in the evening!
Fantastic
Excellent rooms and friendly staff . Room was superb and the breakfast included all you might wish. The shuttle bus stop was just before the hotel, so you can go easily to the old town or see the sights.
The welcome from staff was lovely, nothing was too much trouble, we stayed in a GF room facing a garden area, patio chairs and a small table present, had sun for most of the day, breakfast was good and as a wheelchair user I was able to get around the buffet, on the downside, I would not call this hotel accessible, the entrance is quite a steep slope, I was unable to get my W/Chair up there independently, the same goes for the slope to access the room. There was no room to turn in the bathroom, no rail for the toilet or shower, I was unable to wheel up to the sink, and had to stand to use the hairdryer.
Bed was comfortable , but I was unable to get around the bed in my chair, and even if I could, I’d be unable to get over the lip of the sliding patio door.
The pool was clean but again no rail fro easy access, and I had a few mishaps trying to enter and exit the pool
So there could be some improvement, but an able person would find the hotel very enjoyable in beautiful surroundings.
This is a good spot for experiencing Sirmione. Not too busy, not too far from the sights, and really nice staff!
