Okay - but not great - stay in Galway
Pros:

The common areas / public amenities (e.g., restaurant) of the hotel had been recently renovated and looked very nice. The staff was professional, friendly, and as helpful as they could be (they kindly gave us a mini fridge when asked). Location was good, and the parking was very helpful.

Cons:

The price was very high relative to the experience. We were traveling throughout Ireland so we stayed at multiple properties in that two week period, and this experience was the least strong and most expensive relative to what we got for it.

The rooms felt old and outdated– no airconditioning, the sink drained very slowly. It was also smaller than I'd expected / hoped.

The cleanliness was good, but not great (I saw crumbs and hairs when we first checked into our room).

Nice hotel, too warm
Pros:

Cute hotel close to everything. The location of this hotel is the star. We didn’t bring a car and didn’t feel we needed one at all. We walked everywhere. They also had a room large enough to fit a family of 4. The staff were all kind and the bar and breakfast were nice. The rooms do not have AC .Reading other comments from the front desk they state they provide fans for each guest room. Though we enjoyed the hotel, I just want to be clear that fans were not provided. We called each night for a fan and they said they had run out. The windows only open ~ 1 inch so we were very uncomfortable in the room. We stayed in other hotels while in Ireland without AC and the use of a fan and larger windows made the stay comfortable.

Penthouse with parking
Pros:

We chose this hotel because of the location and parking. It was a bit difficult to imagine how to access the parking, and Galway is full of traffic, but we followed the instructions and drove down an improbable sideroad to find big, clear signs showing the way. Once "underground" we even found a space, but the receptionist explained that if we had not, we could just park anywhere, blocking other cars, and let them have the key. When we came back on the second day, we also found a space but we were blocked in the next morning - and within seconds, the parking manager appeared and moved out the other car for us - completely stress-free.
The hotel has lots of stairs and steps, so even using the lift, you will need to lift your case up or down a few steps. We had a room on the top floor, going round the corner of the house, i.e. a long, narrow room with a fantastic view down Prospect Hill, and a kind of area zoning (bed/coffee/wardrobe/bathroom) so you feel the room is spacious, tidy and welcoming. We had an espresso machine as well as a kettle for coffee. The bathroom lacked hooks or towel rails but the shower was really good and hot.
The room didn't have aircon, so we opened windows (and had street noise which we didn't mind) - there was a fan provided too.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, the staff wasn't as friendly as the rest of the hotel. If you want anything cooked, you have to order it, which all worked fine but I was surprised that eggs is just eggs - make your own toast. I suppose it makes sense for low carb or glutenfree preferences. We took our own muesli as there were only kids cereals - the milk wasn't very cold either. But the yogurts were really good quality. Coffee (also had to be ordered) wasn't very strong. I was so glad I could go back to my room and have an espresso.
The location and parking were the best things - and the view down Prospect Hill.

Buono
Pros:

Posizione centralissima e camera quadrupla molto spaziosa. Area ristorante e sala colazione molto bella.

Cons:

Manca frigobar, colazione non troppo varia e moquette che conferisce alle camere un aspetto un po’ datato. Prezzi molto alti, rispetto alla media.
