Could use earlier pick up times in sorrento
Our third stay at the Grand Hotel Hermitage in Sorrento was nothing short of amazing. Nestled in a quieter mountain spot near the walkable town of Sant'Agata, it offers a peaceful escape from the bustling city centre, making it a perfect stay for both couples and families.
The views of Mount Vesuvius are absolutely spectacular, and the property truly feels like a magnificent, authentic Italian villa. The hygiene is impeccable throughout. We loved relaxing by the two great swimming pools, which never felt packed.
The out-of-this-world Italian food is deeply authentic, but what really sets this hotel apart is the fantastic staff. Unbelievable value for money! They consistently go out of their way to help, guide, and ensure you make the most of your holiday. We already cannot wait to return for our fourth visit in summer 2026—this hotel is an absolute gem!
A friend and I have just spend a week in this lovely location. From the moment we arrived, we had the best customer Service from the lovely Reception staff. They couldn't do enough and were so friendly. The hotel is pretty big and has an italian renaissance feel to it. We had a sea view room, so waking up to the stunning views every morning along with Mount Vesuvius was lovely. We only chose the room and breakfast choice, but breakfast was plentiful and very good. Great coffee machine too. We did eat a couple of times in the restaurant as once again, the staff were outstanding! A special mention to Marco, the Restaurant Deputy Manager, who was brilliant and so very professional. Tony and Antoninia (not sure if I've spelt his name right) were really nice too. I honestly can't praise the staff enough as they went above and beyond to assist us! The nearby village is lovely with some fab restaurants (Orlando and Buenos Aires. Food excellent and so were the limoncello spritzers and delicious local wine in every place we ate. Daily shuttle buses to Sorrento previously booked were very reliable. Again, Sorrento was beautiful! If you go to Amalfi on the boat, don't leave without trying their iced cappucinos. They are delicious. The boat trip there and to Positano was well worth a visit. Pompeii was great too. I am still pining to return. Thank you to all the wonderful hotel staff. It was amazing!
Loved the view from our room, the large buffet breakfast, the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff, the peaceful pool area and the very well cleaned rooms.
The hardness of the poolside chairs
Great location, amazing view, friendly staff, and delicious breakfast and restaurant!
Nothing 😊
The rustic traditional feel
The breakfast was some what very basic and dinner was very average for a 4* hotel
Just returned from a fabulous stay at the Grand Hotel Hermitage. Rooms are traditional style, nice and spacious and very clean. Our room on 4th floor had spacious bathroom with shower over bath. Nice balcony with fabulous view, definitely worth requesting a sea view room. As everyone has already said, the staff add a great deal to this holiday and it is nice to stay in a family run hotel where the staff are so friendly and nothing too much trouble, from the cleaners to reception and restaurant staff. There is a large choice for breakfast and the half board option delivers a relaxing experience with ample and different choices every night. Great service. The pool is an idyllic place to spend some time. For exploring - Pompeii and Herculaneum are easily reached by train from Sorrento station for a few euros. Capri also within easy reach by ferry or organised boat trip. Location of hotel very quiet away from the business of Sorrento but within easy reach by free shuttle bus. Local village within short walk has bars , restaurants, supermarket, church. Lovely walks in surrounding area.
Thoroughly recommended and thank you to all the staff

Lindas vistas
This is a family-run hotel, and you can truly feel it in the service — the entire staff is incredibly kind, caring, and makes it easy to feel like a special guest. The hotel has a charming atmosphere full of history and offers a beautiful view from the hilltop location.
The room was spacious, very clean, and had a stunning view over the town of Sorrento. We especially appreciated the shuttle service provided throughout the day between the hotel and Sorrento, which was very convenient. The parking was also easy and comfortable.
During our stay, the weather was a bit cool, but on hot summer days, the pool area with its breathtaking view must be a perfect place to relax.
Nothing.
We have just returned from Grand Hotel Hermitage which is in the hills above Sorrento.
From first arriving at the hotel the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We got a room on the 5th floor and we had a beautiful view (room 511) looking over the pool and the sea we loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings with a coffee just taking it all in it was so relaxing.
They provide a great shuttle bus into Sorrento on the hour and it picks you back up later, after the hustle and bustle of travelling around it was lovely to come back to the peaceful hotel and take in the wonderful views.
The food each night was lovely and one night they put on a singer and had everyone up dancing but the rest of the nights were quiet. You can also walk up to the little village of Sant Agata which is just up a path from the hotel (lit up at night) where there are a few bars and restaurants.
All in all we had a wonderful time at Grand hotel Hermitage the staff who run it really do make you feel like they want you to enjoy it and everyone we came across was so friendly and helpful so we will definitely return.
Personnel tout simplement incroyable
Vue exceptionnelle. Petit village à côté à la marche.
Great location and views. Private road access to local town Sant Agata sui Due Golfi, with many options available. The hotel will also take you down to Sorrento and pick you up with their private shuttle bus. Very helpful staff. A very comfortable stay.
The lift is a little small but only a problem for multiple trips if many people are using it. The bath/shower is a little small but manageable.
Lovely hotel and Staff where excellent. A bit away from Sorrento town. Unfortunately I had day trips booked early at port. I had to be there before shuttle bus was on duty. Which meant I had to pay 150.00 for my three days activites myself for there taxies. Expensive travelling solo as you pay same rent . So there no single supplement.
Stayed here last August 2025 and had an amazing stay. The rooms were lovely with amazing views and the food was delicious on HB basis. Always cooked fresh.
Not much going on in the hotel entertainment wise but a short walk into the village there was a few bars which were always busy.
Staff were very friendly
Excellent service, the staff is very helpful and friendly, helping out with information and organising eg a rental car. Free shuttle to Sorrento is very convenient and the village at a short walk distance is very nice.
The hotel itself is old but very well kept.
