The room was very clean and tidy, very quiet, great Wi-Fi connection for work.
There were no curtains or black out blind in this particular room and as it is June, sleeping after 5am was challenging.
The owners of the cafe are amazing
Very very loud especially as we had to have the windows open. So every car and especially motorbike we could hear.
Never been anywhere that didn’t have a fridge in the room.. the cafe is only open Wednesday-Sunday till 4pm so there’s no way of keeping cold water or a bottle of wine in your room. Would be worse if you had kids too.
We had to use the rubbish bin and buy ice to put in it just to keep our water and wine in it.
But the rooms are pleasant other than the above

Breakfast was lovely and location
Cobwebs , out of date milk and biscuits in the rooms,bad smell of drains in room 7. Key fob didn’t work in room 8 and as no one is in hotel the lady in the breakfast room helped me

The details we received pre arrival were not up to date and although the bar was available it closed at 4pm which is really a limited provision.The milk in the room was unpleasant and the bar staff provided us with fresh milk
Finally the security door to the rooms was not activated which was a little concerning
We have stayed at this location before, mainly for convenience. Whilst the place is spotlessly clean, and lovely and warm, there are some issues that concern us. To start with, there is no security in the place, the swipe facility on the hall door to the bedrooms is broken, when we stayed back in the summer, it was the same. The blinds in the bedrooms are not adequate, you might as well sleep with a light on, we were in Room 7 and had next to no sleep, curtains are needed. Top priority is to make the place safe, anyone could have walked in there.

The room was clean and spacious. Quiet . Easy to find . Parking. Plenty of towels
Really cold , no heating. Only cups and glasses for 2 people even though room for 4. Remote control did not work. Said there was WiFi , there was no passwor/code for it.
Our key card did not work , it had been left on side in entrance. A lady did come out and change it and we would have mentioned the issues but was not aware of them at the time.
I didn't feel completely safe as outside doors were permanently left propped open as not staffed.
The place is close to the Usk Show grounds and convenient to stay the night after the show.
The restaurant working hours changed so we could not grab dinner there, and the restaurant was not open for breakfast (which it should have been according to working hours).
I booked three rooms for a party of guests. Perhaps bad luck, but the majority of the facilities were unavailable due to staff sickness, so it all felt somewhat remote. We did not meet a single member of staff during our stay. As I was hosting the evening, my larger suite allowed me to entertain guests, but all my guests felt the rooms were far too hot and uncomfortable as a result.
Sad, because with some clear instructions on radiators, their experience might have been better.
May revisit, but not with guests until I am certain their experience will be better.

Great price for family room considering you get the full size bunk bed compared to other places nearby with sofa bed for similar price.

Great location and beautiful views. Good size family room. But we only had blinds, not curtains, so the room was a bit light considering it’s a family room.

Cleanliness
Lack of security. Anyone off the street could have walked into the bedrooms. The latch of the first security door was missing. The mattress protector crackled every time you moved, therefore got very little sleep. The mattress topper made the bed very hot. Most hotels/b&b at that price would provide minimal toiletteries in the bathroom, e.g.. shower gel. Disappointed that you are not able to provide members of staff for a considerable part of the week. Will not stay again, did not feel safe.
