The place looks pretty run down. For example, the bathroom was moldy and the tiny bathroom sink had a really slow drain (see attached pictures). The hair dryer had hair in it. The owners don’t appear to be reinvesting in or maintaining the place. For example, the carpets in the lobby are threadbare (see attached picture). Housekeeping repeatedly would only leave a single hand towel and wash cloth in our room for two each day, despite daily requests for a second set, so it appeared there was a towel shortage at the hotel.
Our first-floor window looked out onto a brick wall (see attached photo). When we asked for a room that wasn’t facing a brick wall, hotel management wrote back stating “Our Midtown One Bedroom Suites are located on levels 1 through 4. As we are an inner-city property surrounded by neighbouring buildings, most rooms do not offer extensive views,” which we took to mean that that rooms located on levels 1 through 4 of this 5-floor hotel offer the same brick wall view.
There were also few amenities and services. For a city the size of Melbourne, you could do better. A lot better. Ohnogo Ovolo.

Had a great 1 night stay and would definitely return. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was well sized, with a great bed and pillows, plenty of options in mini bar, and heaps of power points (always a plus!). Great location for exploring Melbourne and really well priced.
Tripadvisor gave this such a good rating and I loved the location so I booked this hotel. I’m so glad I did. We got the penthouse suite which came with a full kitchen, hot tub and two bedrooms. They even let us squeeze in our pesky third child, who decided to come to Melbourne! It really couldn’t be more conveniently located for great bars and restaurants. The staff were lovely and we were very excited about the welcome of a bottle of fizz and lollies (confusing for the British contingency who were expecting either a lollipop or an ice lolly, but what we got were sweets, but still appreciated!). The room decor was lovely as was the outside balcony but sitting outside after dinner in the hot tub was beyond your normal hotel experience. In the morning we didn’t do the breakfast but popped out to a local bakery and got coffee and croissants and ate it on the patio which was sublime. I definitely would stay here again and I can highly recommend it.
