I checked in to Cinnomon lakeside with my family last 25th of December, Hotel recommend me Doorman, Mr danushka sampath jagoda, With his excellent service.⭐️ My kids excited about Hotel Christmas events and the food and beverages are really great and healthy refreshing ⭐️ Room condition really impressed and pool and pool side enjoyable and mind relaxing with lakeside. Highly recommend to families this property in the heart of Colombo.

We stayed in Colombo before our flight and we had an excellent stay. We got an upgrade to an executive room which was probably the best room during our stay in Sri Lanka. The room service was excellent. The facilities like the pool and the large choice of food and beverage options made our stay complete. Our flight did not leave until late in the evening and our luggage was kept safely after the check-out. We also enjoyed the food and beverage options after the check-out. We will gladly return for our next layover in Colombo.

A slightly older property but a great resort style property with exceptional service and food in the heart of Colombo.

As a local i stayed there for 3 nights during christmas, it was a good hotel for a staycation. In-room dining is worth the money, hotel overall is great.

CINNAMON LAKESIDE HOTEL.
House keeping under staffed. Always having to chase them for bath towels. Bedside clock doesn't work. Staff don't understand English.
It is very hard to communicate with them.
Very loud music until late at night.
One good waiter Donald, gave us excellent service. Worth a mention.
Breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet always crowded. Guests scrambling for food. Tables not cleaned for next guest. Impossible to get served a cup of tea. I got served coffee instead of tea as requested. This Hotel is good for a short stay only. We stayed 16 days too long. Too many weddings held here. Always very crowded.
Our friends booked through Booking.com at the same time as us. They received free breakfast for 16 days. We booked through Booking.com and got no breakfast for 16 days.
We are moving on.

I have repeatedly informed your front desk to email me the invoice. However, up to now, I have not received it.

Used to be our go to hotel every year since 1992. The place we loved to stay whenever in Colombo.

So sad to see it in this awful state of play. From needing a lick of paint to a complete overhaul of its systems, training and processes.

Gone are the long serving members of staff with their experience, expertise and customer knowledge to be replaced with young, inexperienced triers. Not a 5 star experience.

Breakfast buffet is a joke. Badly organised, not sufficient staff, no space, layout lacks imagination and process flow.

Room service slow, food cold and items missing from the meal.

On the plus side the pool remains a gem even if it now has a talagoya making a daily appearance. The remaining long service staff try so hard to make up for the inadequacies that management has foisted on them that you feel for them.

So sad but I fear we have stayed our last stay here.

Fantastic and quick response from Jagodage based at the Security Department to be able to assist my clients whose vehicle was stranded just before their departure time from the hotel. He was very quick to react and found an alternative vehicle within minutes so that the clients could make their flight on time. Fantastic customer service by this gentleman.

My overall experience is great. The staff is very friendly. Foods are delicious. Beds are so comfortable. I would like to recommend this place to anyone.

Great hotel, great views, great breakfast. Gym had a lot of equipment options for a hotel, pool was not too busy and was large. Sauna was nice. Room was nice too, only issue was one night I think there was a music festival on or something and the sound was very loud, luckily my partner and I were so tired we were able to fall asleep (10:30pm) with no issues, but if we were trying to get an early night and weren’t that tired I think we may have had issues.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. The staff were welcoming, the stay was comfortable, all three meals were delicious, and the pool area was very enjoyable. Overall, a great and memorable experience.

Check-in took more than 1 hour. No place to sit. Had to stand in a queue to check-in. No regard or interest given to comments and requests at the time of booking. The check in staff said there are no lake view rooms at all on the 7floor which is the executive floor that surprised us much. Upon calling reservations and the website we found that there are Lake view room on the executive floor. Local guests are treated with lack of respect and suspicion all the time. We experienced this at the Executive Lounge and the Dining room. None of the staff here smile as they said they were overworked and less staff. No water or cutlery at the Dining room. Guests were stirring their tea with knifes and forks. The manager was very pleasant and tried to make amends but we were thoroughly harassed as we had to wait a long while to be seated at breakfast and the crowd inside was way more that this restaurant can hold. Resembled a crowded market. The executive lounge is a joke compared to other hotels. There is simply nothing there except a few nibbles. The coffee was horrible as they didn’t know how to make a good cup of Latte or Cappuccino. It was lukewarm when it arrived with way too much milk. We had to wait an hour for the high tea. The food at high tea and happy hours ur caused us a terrible indigestion. This was a great hotel before. But not anymore. This is my last time here. I will stick to Cinnamon Grand which is better than this. Cinnamon resorts are great. But the Lakeside uses the goodwill they received in the past to get customers but the service now is crap.

It's a great pleasure to write this review of  Cinnamon Lakeside hotel.
First I would like to appreciate Mr Gayan who when I informed him of my health conditions being immunocompromised arranged for a deep clean of the room. It's the care for guests from people like him which sets Cinnamon Lakeside above par other colombo hotels.  Also my check in was under 5 minutes making it one of the fastest check ins in my experience.
Ms Enoka was also extremely efficient and co-ordinated my booking seamlessly.
I would also like to commend the housekeeping staff Mr Krishantha, Mr Eranda who were always checking in on us to make sure our stay was perfect. Also Mr Muthu who undertook for the cleaning of the room is a perfectionist who makes sure there's isn't any dust on the counter tops. He's a real asset to the hotel.
Dining room under the care of Mr Pinto, Mr Ajith, chef Desus and Ms Vinoli ensures high quality of both food and service.
I was also happy to hear of the promotion of Mr Thushara Bandara who is an excellent hotelier always checking into everything thereby maintaining high standards.
I also had the pleasure of meeting the new General Manager Mr Dushyantha and in conversation I understood he expects to further raise the high standards of the hotel and is committed to making it the best hotel in the city.

Cinnamon lakeside was a great hotel. The buffet breakfast had food for everyone and the main beds were great but the rollaway beds were not the best. Cinnamon lakeside had a great pool with the lake right next to it and their customer serves was ok. Cinnamon lakeside is in the city of Colombo I really love this hotel but the showers won’t suit everyone because older people can’t climb over the bath so they can have a shower because there was a bathtub/shower in the bathrooms. We still love the hotel and would still recommend it.

Is a lovely place to rest and relax , a very comfortable and relaxing hotel , I usually stay here because everything about it is great except sometimes very load guest, but that is not the fault of the hotel, it’s just that people need to respect others and be considerate about there environment there in and not there home town base lol 😂 anyways I always love cinnamon ❤️

Absolutely loved our stay at Cinnamon Lakeside. We stay at Lakeside every year when we visit Sri Lanka—it truly offers the best value for money. The location is very convenient, and the view from the room is outstanding, especially overlooking the lake and the Lotus Tower.
One of the highlights for me is the gym. Sanidu and Lakmini went above and beyond to support my workouts, and Sanidu even provided a personalised workout plan for me to continue.
The breakfast buffet was excellent as well—I can’t fault anything.
The only area for improvement would be the check-in process. It tends to take quite a long time compared to other hotels and can be challenging during busy periods.
