Disappointed
Pros:

Location and communal areas.

Cons:

I'm convinced I was given a lesser room than I'd paid for. I've since looked at other reviews and it seems others have felt the same. If a mistake, this is a significant detail missed. If on purpose due to booking logistics, it feels like a lack of integrity and I would not book this hotel again. The room in question is a tiny attic room with dirty windows and low ceilings. This didn't represent the pictures of a king room and I would not have booked it.

Missed the relais standard
Pros:

Very comfortable bed, great water pressure, clean.

Located next to the river, also short walk to the town centre, hotel with interesting history.

Cons:

The check-in process was very poorly managed, with a queue forming due to only one staff member being available. The same individual was also responsible for escorting guests to their rooms, which significantly slowed down the overall process.

The fire alarm activated in the morning; however, there were no visible fire wardens and staff appeared unsure how to respond. This created confusion and concern. There is a clear need to strengthen health and safety procedures, ensuring staff are trained and able to respond quickly, confidently, and in a coordinated manner.

Dusty Springfield A Tribute Evening
Pros:

A truly delightful evening at The Relais Henley. The Dusty Springfield tribute was outstanding — the singer captured not only Dusty’s iconic voice beautifully, but also her warmth, humour, and personality.

The event was exceptionally well organised, the food was excellent, and the waiting staff deserve special mention — attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout.

All in all, a fun, relaxed, and memorable night.

A comfortable, historic hotel located in the centre of town, next to the River Thames
Pros:

Historic, Characterful hotel in Henley town centre, overlooking the River Thames.
My room was spacious with a very comfortable bed.
I enjoyed a tasty evening meal there. The breakfast was wonderful and service was excellent.
There is a small well stocked hotel bar, which was an excellent place to relax.

Cons:

Parking is not easy in Henley on Thames and I had to park my car away from the Hotel.
The station is approximately 10 minutes walk from the property
