The manager was spot on with sorting small and little inconvineces like within 2m of seeing him reception took small alterations i had too my booking realy easy. The carvery was amazing food lovly the playground is such a nice thing to have access too. The event brick feile i was there for was great i just had a steler time the heat had me going crazy(heatwave) but the ac the staff and the food just everything went well
There was no bin at the park and some rubbish was there overnight
I would highly recommend this hotel. I arranged some business meetings early in the morning before I flew out of Dublin on business. I stayed the night before after a long drive and found the staff very friendly and very accommodating in arranging everything I needed in their excellent conference facilities. I got a large executive suite with much needed air conditioning. A nice hearty breakfast the next morning set me up for a great day, I will definitely use City North hotel again.
We had a soccer tournament nearby and decided to go for lunch. It was a busy Saturday afternoon but staff were efficient and friendly. We enjoyed the BLT's with a few portions of fries. A great quick stop off during a busy weekend.
I was served by the most respectful young waiter Ruairí on Saturday and Friday morning. He was kind asked about my day the plans for the family helped in every way possible. I gave him a tip before I went but this young man’s character needs to be highlighted.
Spacious rooms
Spotless
Nice variety at breakfast
Evening meal was not great.
Fish and chips - Tasteless
Breakfast was not replenished well.
We went at 9 for a leisurely breakfast. But wouldn't have liked to come later as coffee and tea were cool and pastries and bread not topped up.
Rooms were very hot.
Small window to open.
I travel from Kerry to Belfast to get the ferry.
City north is convenient for the motorway and easy reach for Belfast .
I always arrive about 9pm and leave around 6am.
All I want is a pint of Guinness and a hot shower the pint is good but the last two times I have stayed there was no hot water
The man at reception said it’s because of high demand I think for 215 euro a night they could get a bigger hot water tank.
I was told someone would be in touch with me I’m still waiting
I recently stayed here for 3 nights for work.
My room was quiet and clean and check in was good. However, the reasons for the ‘average’ score are:
1. The breakfast is one of the worst of any hotel in which I’ve stayed (I stay in hotels multiple hotels a year). It was overrun by coach parties, there was no marmalade for 3 days, the buffet hot food is served by staff (a first in any hotel for me) so a huge queue builds immediately, then there was no juice, no fruit and so on. It was chaos every day.
I did get a pre-arrival email asking me to book for breakfast and dinner but reception staff look surprised when I tried to book and said it wasn’t required.
2. The coach parties are a problem generally. Most business guests don’t want to be surrounded by young American students with no volume control.
3. The evening service in Tara lounge was better but it was only about 10% occupied each night with a lot of young and very bored staff loafing about. The dishes are VERY variable: there’s no excuse for tasteless frozen prawns in the Dublin area or the most dreadful desserts with brought in pasty cases and some filling dumped in. Very disappointing.
I would stay here again if I had to but not out of choice.
I've stayed here a few times over the last few years, both while travelling for business and when attending conferences.
The hotel has plenty of free parking and is conveniently located just off the motorway, making it easy to reach by car. However, it's some distance from the nearest towns and from Dublin, so if you're visiting for leisure you'll almost certainly need a car, as taxis to nearby attractions or restaurants can quickly become expensive.
It's an excellent venue for conferences, with plenty of meeting and event space. The bedrooms have always been clean and comfortable, and the staff have consistently been welcoming and friendly.
The bar and restaurant area is quite large and can feel a little quiet if the hotel isn't busy. On my last visit, breakfast was a little disappointing. There were only a handful of guests in the dining area, yet service seemed a bit disorganised.
Overall, it's an ideal hotel for business travellers or anyone organising a conference. If you're visiting Ireland as a tourist looking for nightlife or attractions within walking distance, it may not be the best location, but for business or travel groups it ticks all the boxes.
Hotel lovely and clean staff very helpful and friendly
No walk in shower . Thought room be more modern and no gowns or slippers for 4star hotel
