Smelt nice!
Great hotel and customer service , especially Hamza at reception !
Location is inconvenient. Atmosphere not at all welcoming. Our so-called “superior” room came with the added “luxuries” of: -
A light fitting hanging off in the bathroom
A faulty coffee machine
Stained carpet
A very unappealing view
Grubby curtains
Would I return? What do you think!!!!
Nothing
Location too far from underground disappointed with room booked superior room it was far from superior
Location
Rooms tired, no crisps or nuts at the bar
Location
Hamza was extremely accommodating and helpful.
Turning up late after a concert was no issue, greeted by friendly Hamza who couldn't do more for us and was kind enough to ask about where we'd been. Room was immaculate and comfortable. Great all round experience
I am loathe to leave average reviews but on this occasion feel it is justified.
The hotel - like others have said is near the O2, but it is across the river. So like others who made the same mistake we ended up in taxi's or walking then changing twice on the DLR to get there. This is my bad of course, but the hotel would do well to capitalise on this and run shuttles at £5 a head there and back, worth a thought.
The check in was nice and welcoming so well done to the reception staff - and the room was lovely, spacious and clean.
However- the air con did not get below 20 so it was rather warm, and the wardrobe is a rail in the bathroom which is odd. There were no biscuits, just water in the room. Just a few little touches there would make all the difference.
My main issue though was the service. Or lack of it.
The barman was verging on rude. He could barely look at you let alone smile. No conversation, absolutely nothing. And it was far from busy.
On both occasions we spent money at the bar he was the same. Everyone we saw seemed taken aback by it. You really didn't even want to ask for a drink.
There was no interest in table service either - you just stood there and waited for your drinks/cocktails. When 10% is automatically added to your bill just for drinks I really do resent that lack of care.
Dinner was tasty but again, no real interactions from staff.
Breakfast completely self service even the coffee.
I stay away alot both for work and leisure, I am a positive person that sees the good in most things and i really struggled to leave a 3 star review.
It is a lovely hotel - so it is shame a lack of staff interaction lets it down. For this reason it is unlikely I would return.
The hotel is very nice, staff at check in were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The room was lovely and the shower was too notch!
It is not as close to the O2 as you think but the DLR is just around the corner.
The only downside was the barmen - we came back after a show and the barman was rude, slow, and more interested in chatting to his friend at the bar.
Fijne kamers. Prima ontbijt
The hotel is positioned across the river from the O2 arena, with nice views from the dining area.
The rooms are comfortable and the food was good.
We had issues with the resturant after paying at reception for our meal , which was resolved eventually , but was not a good start to our stay.
Prepare to take a taxi or public transport if attending the O2 arena.
