Pros:

This hotel is close to the centre of town.
Currently undergoing refurbishment.
Breakfast was okay but could have a lot more choice.

Cons:

Rooms definitely in need of an upgrade. We had a problem with the toilet leaking but reception sent a maintenance worker quickly.

Good value accommodation for one night in the heart of Sandakan
Pros:

Excellent location, easy walk to waterfront restaurants, central market and heritage trail.
Selingan Deluxe King room was spacious, clean, comfortable, good shower. Fairly basic but great value for money.
Breakfast and lunch good

Cons:

Selingan Superior Twin room was small, no fridge

Centrally located and great view from our room. The breakfast and lunch was plentiful and tasty.

Cons:

The room looked clean but there was a big ball of hair in the shower and black hair on the floor in the room.

Basic but I guess it did the job

Cons:

It feels like it’s in a ln awful area of town. Basic is an understatement - tbh we were a bit scared lol We are perhaps a bit spoilt with what we are used to coming from nz - but just thought I should let other families coming from nz or Aussie know - your probably better to travel out further to the hotels by the Sunbear and Orang Utan rehabilitation ctrs.

If you are exploring Sandakan while in Sabah I didn’t see anything that beats the Hotel Sandakan at the price point.
Pros:

Location and staff

Cons:

I should have asked for a front facing room. Out the back you are forced to listen to stray dogs crying all night. My fault for not asking.

Good price for a hotel room, great location and buffet style breakfast aswell as kind personnel!
Pros:

Breakfast was buffet style, decent hotel bedroom, clean and location is good, walking distance to city center aswell Agnes Keith House. If you love coffee, go to The Roastery, literally 2 minutes away and very good Guatemalan coffee.

Cons:

It was okay for the price!
