Wonderful accommodation! Very clean and tidy room and facilities, friendly staff and cool breakfast. The location in Downtown Boise is very convenient to get to from any point. Wifi is stable and fast as well.

Downtown Boise and a Local Comfortable Welcoming Overnight
Pros:

The Modern has taken the old & made it new & modern. The rooms are comfortable & very modern. The staff are friendly & helpful. The breakfast is delightfully yummy, & the location is grand. You can walk all over downtown Boise, or bike, as they have free bicycles. A fun place to stay!

Cons:

Street noise can be an issue, but earplugs are an amenity.

A rare beyond expectations stay!
Pros:

I traveled to Boise for the first time at the end of January 2026. As a Basque-American I wanted to visit the Basque Capital of the USA. I chose the Modern due to it being walking distance from the Basque Block and because it's a indy owned business which I much prefer over chains and multi-nationals, Bonus! it's Basque-American owned and they serve several Basque themed entrees in their dining room. Old Boise--downtown, is very walkable plus the Modern offeres bikes for its guests to get around. Their shower is spa quality with an overhead rain shower head plus a handheld shower head in a very large walk-in tiled stall, add to this excellent towels-extra large. Super friendly staff and you get a surprise gift bag upon checking in. They are in the Linen District and 1/2 block away is the Neon Grove, a collection of vintage business neon signs installed along 1 block which lights up at night! If you enjoy seeing modern murals and grafitti art, a few blocks away is the renown "Freak Alley"...a 2 block long alley with side pocket of amazing artistry.

I have been stayed multiple times when driving from Seattle to Park City Utah. I love everything!
Pros:

I love the Modern. The restaurant is fabulous and the food is amazing. The staff is wonderful, warm , welcoming and I have told many people about this exceptional place. I also love its dog friendly.

Great little motel for a quick overnight stay in Boise
Pros:

This is an older Motel that has been renovated. They did a really good job on it and we enjoyed our stay and the food was exceptional. Location and price were great. Free parking.
