Manager gave me reward points for my inconveniences.
Room wasn’t ready. Lack of towels. No bedding for pull out couch.
Where to begin? We had to stay at this hotel for a stay to play hockey tournament. We stay at Marriotts all the time and have never stayed at a bad one. Well this was a first.
The beds were stained and springy. The walls all throughout the room dirty. Doors were white but take a washcloth to them and your wash cloth will be brown. There was trash in our room that wasn’t ours. Shower curtain had stains inside and out. The window curtains-take a look at the picture. Brown! The chair was nasty. When we asked for TP at the front desk we were told to find a cleaner for it. The other parents in our group said they were shocked at the condition of this hotel. Disgusting. The towel in our room looked like it had been used and folded back up it was to be white but was tan.
Everyone was nice but the rooms needed cleaned not just bed change and towels.
The staff was nice and helpful
My sheets was dirty and my pots and pans was dirty the pool was super salty , and the breakfast was not good at all
No hot tub
The continental breakfast staff was very friendly and helpful
The room was dirty in spots
Nice rooms staff nice.
Pool cold. Hotel didnt have enough blankets to accomadate all guests.
The desk clerk, Punkin Davis, went above and beyond for us. We had an issue with Booking.com and they were unresponsive (less than helpful. Much less.) and she hung in there for us. Plus, she was pleasant and charming the entire time. Give that girl a raise!!!
Fleas in the bed, torn curtains, elevators stopped working, dead batteries on door locks, clogged bathroom drain, clogged air conditioner filters and computer system was down. Could not get receipt for stay and had to call twice to get one sent via email. Overall very disappointed and would not recommend. Not the type of hotel you expect with the Marriott name.
For the past ten years or so, I’ve stayed at Marriott hotels (Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, and this Towneplace) when I’ve come back to visit old friends in Kalamazoo 2 or 3 times each year. Over the past 5 years or so, I’ve mostly stayed at this hotel because the Residence Inn was increasingly deteriorating and finally can no longer be booked (presumably it closed). This hotel seems to be on a similar trajectory over these past 5 years. The hotel’s breakfast items have gotten more limited. The various rooms I’ve stayed in appear increasingly beat. Chips in the walls. The bed “dust ruffle” has obvious spills on it and needs to be washed. The prior time I was here, there wasn’t a single complete set of silverware. This time there were at least 4 complete sets of silverware, but only ONE drinking glass and no wine or other glasses. There is the usual stove, but sometimes no pots nor pans to use or the necessary kitchen utensils are missing. You never know what kitchen items will be available, so don’t count on being able to cook, eat, or even drink in your room. In the past, the staff were typically very cordial and even fun to talk with. The attitude of the staff my prior stay was disappointing, though certainly not rude. The person checking me in this time, mumbled enough that once or twice I didn’t even know she was speaking to me and a couple of times I had to ask her to repeat what she said. Twice now their booking system has been down, resulting in having to provide credit card and other information on paper that was already provided when I booked on the Marriott website. Glad there are several other Marriott hotels available in Kalamazoo, as I doubt I’ll stay here again.
Not too impressed but it was okay. They dont do full cleaning everyday. Its always every other day unless you make a request for it to be done everyday. Otherwise its just taking garbage out everyday. The renovation is overdue for sure! The spring bed was almost broken but I survived! Kitchen was fully operational which is what I needed the most. Both Elevators were out of the service for the whole week and im sure they still have mot fixed them yet! I specifically looked for bwd bugs did not find any to my surprise otherwise it would have been a disaster and I would have checked out immediately. Can not rule out checking for bed bugs given its current condition.
We came for family weekend at WMU and stayed two nights. It was perfect for what we needed. We loved having a full size refrigerator and a kitchen. The hotel is older but still in great shape. We will definitely be back!
