The staff were nice. The price of the room was okay for what it is.
The food was like a cheap imitation of Weatherspoons (I’ve only ever been a couple of times in my life but the memory is there). However at least Weatherspoons is a bargain. The bill for two people for one non-alcoholic drink, a starter and main each, was over £70. Everything else about the hotel is budget. But it’s as though they get you out there and in the middle of nowhere you pay for the hotel food, which should be half the price they’re charging.
Breakfast was good. The room was clean if a little dilapidated. Plenty of tea and coffee facilities, although no fridge.
Pictures show fron of hall, not the rest of the hotel which was like a poor Travel Lodge.Parking was terrible, had to park in an overflow car park and caryy bags, bathroom was old and in need of refurbishment. No phone signal and WiFi wasn't great. had to fix the TV aerial so that we could watch the World cup.
Great setting peaceful lovely building
Things need doing to bring this place up to the prices they are charging. I Found the manger or the person who thinks he's the manager very efficient in doing his job but unfortunately his attitude leaves a lot to be desired, I and other guest we spoke to found him quite rude and arrogant.
Out side ash trays weren't emptied or cleaned and were filthy, although they had two large parasols in seating area these were not opened in the 32 degrees heat. Our room was not the best was right at the back of the hotel with window looking at walls and full of bird poo and we paid extra for a executive room I could go on but you get the idea was not impressed and unfortunately won't be going again
Hotel is absolutely clean, windows and mirrors are spotless. The entrance and reception is very welcoming and clean. Reception is immaculately clean and neat. No untidy papers or slips lying around. One can sense the staff are taking pride in their work and you immediately know the hotel is very well managed. Hotel has a lovely big garden area to enjoy. Parking in grounds available. Food served is top quality. Cannot fault the hotel. Best stay ever!
Cannot find anything that we did not like.
The grounds and drive were nice and when the hotel came into view it looked nice also. Check in was efficient and found our room without problem
Once we entered the room it was disappointing. The furniture was on par with travel lodge. I thought we had booked something a bit up market. Went to breakfast at 9am and wasn't an enjoyable either, first time in my life that scrambled eggs were lumpy, hows it possible? my only thought was it was a previous pan taken into the kitchen and the scrambled eggs that have been sitting at service for at least an hour and a half being heated to death and going hard were mixed with the fresh pan which was being taken into the breakfast room. Its only a guess or maybe its the way they make scrambled eggs!! The rooms were designed and decorated like an up class nursing home.
Good very good. Staff polite and helpful.
Room was not to the standard I was expecting for the price. Looked like it was in need of refurbishment.
Nice location
Bedroom very basic breakfast was discussing
First night quiet
second night noisy
Staff, breakfast, breakfast room and grounds. Bed.
Accommodation area- corridors need makeover. Disability bathroom - smell of hospital. Window - view and bird crap on windows. .
