Room smelled of mildew
House keeping tried twice to get in room with us in it.
When we arrived, check-in was delayed by an hour. After driving all day, having to wait another hour just to get into our room was a really frustrating way to start our vacation.
Our room was on the third floor, and there are no elevators, only stairs. We were notified about this a few weeks before our trip, so that wasn’t an issue. What was disappointing was the condition of the room itself. It looked nothing like the photos on the website. The room had an old, musty smell and just felt outdated and cheaply put together. We booked a room with a resort view, but the only thing we could really see from our window was a tree blocking almost everything. The ceiling had obvious signs of water damage, the bed was held up by black iron gas pipes, and the bathroom door wouldn’t even close all the way. The couch looked stained, worn, and musty. The TV wires hung down the wall inside a plastic cover, which made the room look unfinished. If you turn on the ceiling fan, be prepared for one of the loudest, most annoying squeaking noises you’ve ever heard. The bathroom had an ugly, cheap looking, peel off sticker tile throughout it, and they didn’t even bother covering the exposed finish nails in the trim. To make matters worse, the shower water would randomly become extremely hot without warning, which was especially painful after spending the day in the sun. The only positive things I can say are that the front desk staff were friendly, and the beach itself wasn’t nearly as crowded as other areas of Myrtle Beach. Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment. My family and I stayed for six nights and spent around $2,000. Looking back, I wish we had booked somewhere else in North Myrtle Beach for the same price. We could have had an oceanfront room that actually looked like the pictures and been much happier. I’m leaving this review because I think it’s important for hardworking families to know exactly what they’re paying for before they book. Based on our experience, I can’t recommend staying here. Save your money and book somewhere else.
Great location
Beach bar friendly but menu unimaginative ,limited and unchanged since previous visit
Nice pool but needs vacuuming
Pool deck dirty and needs power washing
Save your money. Do not rent from this establishment. I’ve been here for 3 days and had to call maintenance 5 times so far. The air conditioning isn’t working on one side of the unit. Instead of fixing the issue. They keep putting bandaids on it. Only one tv works right, the rest don’t change channels and one of the patio doors doesn’t lock.
We love the oceanfront dunes rooms. It is the 4th time we have stayed with them. It has close beach access and the restaurants are to die for! Our mattress was broken and the kind people at the front desk replaced it immediately the next morning.
The variance in the dunes rooms are astounding. Every other time we have gotten a full fridge and the room looked like the pictures in the advertisement. This room had a mini fridge, no stove, and looked nothing like the pictures. Booking needs to put correct pictures with rooms because I would never have booked the room we were in at the price I paid. Booking.com needs to be forthcoming and not false advertise sub-par rooms. I won’t book through booking again unless you make this right. That room total should have been no more than 950.00 and I paid way more! What in the world was I to do once I booked and we were there. The ball is
In your court.
My daughter and I have been staying at the Litchfield Inn for 25 years. We have stayed in The Tower, The Lodge, and the ocean front screened in porch rooms. We are thrilled with our stay each time. The two restaurants blew my mind. The food was literally mouth watering delicious. During our stay we had bang bang tacos, mahi mahi tacos, scallops, lobster tails, crab dip, and the list goes on. Every time we took a bite we looked at each other in disbelief, the chef nailed it EVERY time!!!!! We never wanted to go out to eat at any other restaurants! The sit down breakfast service was a special touch and scrumptious!
The food in the two restaurants was good .
Resort prices . But great bar and choices.
The service was super slow in the beach bar and restaurant and staff very unfriendly! I have stayed here before several times. The place was not clean or picked up around the pools. Very dark with no lights around the pools. Supposedly renovated rooms but old and dirty.
Biggest plus was the balcony views.
I paid over 300 a night just for a view.
Bed was extra soft but ok. Mini fridge hardly worked and ran water in the bottom. No broom or even a rack in the closet to hang clothes. I should have paid Half the price for this “premium” room.
Another plus was the 40 daily I paid for two chairs and an umbrella right on the beach.Fireworks on the beach for the 4th
Was nice along with live music by the pool.
However had to leave the downstairs restaurant after a 45 minute wait for no appetizer. Had to leave and go eat off site.
The upstairs fine restaurant was better but ran out of certain foods on the menu.
Our server Sarah was great .
Great beach front, excellent restaurant on site
Perfect, quiet, quaint and rustic feel to oceanfront room in the tower. We loved it! Friendly, plenty of beach space and the food was superb.
Only the Ocean front location it saved it from being a complete no no.
Very shabby, not as clean as one would expect, the worst bath I have ever seen in any hotel worldwide, should be replaced immediately.
Very old AC way too loud for decent sleep on and off all night. Not once in your days was our room cleaned etc.
had to request more toilet roll as only one partially used one in room on arrival. Shocking lack of service.
The location
The customer service
The queen bed was terrible. I could feel the springs through the top of the mattress on my back.
Two hours late letting us check in
N/A
Linen service
It’s right on a long stretch of beach in a cute enclave and close to shopping and dining. The hotel has a restaurant that I frequented during my stay. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
I liked the property but the air conditioner was no match for the humidity. My room was cool but a bit damp.
