Serene setting in nature
Pros:

We felt very welcomed and comfortable in this lovely hotel. The location was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Onsen was a perfect way to end each day after hiking around Hakone.

Cons:

The restaurant prices were frightening so we didn’t eat at them at all. I was disappointed there wasn’t a casual restaurant with a more reasonably priced menu. Luckily the hotel shuttle bus enabled us to travel easily into town to eat.

Pros:

This hotel is beautiful, retro looking, sitting on Lake Ashi as a part of a huge complex that belongs to The Prince Hakone. Rooms are retro, spacious, with comfortable beds and all amenities. Attentive staff that try their best to help you at all times. Japanese etiquette that makes it extra fun. Big shower. Amazing Onsen with all amenities available. beautiful views to Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. Shuttle that takes you to Motohakone and Odawara shuttle as well [useful for Shinkansen goers like me]. The Onsen was also open to kids, which is amazing for a family.

Cons:

The hotel is luxurious and fun, but needs some renovation. Specially the shower. Food was great, but extremely costly, and you have to get it because there is nothing around to eat [only at Motohakone, which is far].

大浴場も使用者が比較的いるわりには清潔感があり、清掃が行き届いていて良かった。関西の有名温泉地の宿に行った際は自分のスリッパを取り間違えられたり、外履きスリッパのまま脱衣所に侵入する外国人観光客に嫌な思いをしたが、ここはスリッパも脱衣所の前

九頭龍神社が近くて、散策コースも整備されておりとても良かったです！うぐいすの鳴き声が聞こえて癒されました。

Not satisfied with our stay.

Coffee shop did not open until 1030am
Three restaurants were over priced
No restaurant / bar serving bar food. We had to order via room service and eat in our room.
Nowhere to sit and look at Mount Fuji view within the facility, even though it had floor to ground windows.
Blood and stains on one of the mattress protectors.
The hotel was like a maze so far to walk to rooms.
Do not and will not recommend this hotel.
