Central City Disaster
Pros:

The location was topnotch, everything within walking distance especially the venue that we came to visit just being minutes by foot. Not noisy at all considering we had a room close to the busy road.

Cons:

The musty smell in the hallway when you got out of the lift was just so overpowering, couldn't be ignored I'm sad to say. The same again in the room but appeared to be masked by some scented room spray that I didn't enjoy inhaling so put the air-conditioning on that took awhile to navigate as the temperature on the remote didn't match the temperature displayed on the unit but finally got a suitable setting
The toilet was very low, ideal for children though and the cistern top had a crack that was covered by tape. To step up into and out of the bathtub was a little difficult and felt unsafe but managed with care
When closing a window noticed a hole and crack just under the windowsill, had crumbled onto the floor.
If you were looking for something cheap and nasty, this is your place. You got what you paid for. Liked the character of the building and possibly back in it's prime may have been a beauty but noted lack of maintenance, look tired and unloved.
The pictures on booking site was not a true indication of the actual state of this place, can't trust a photo!
I'm sorry to say I wouldn't stay again and I wouldn't recommend to stay either especially if you have kids or a female on your own!

Pros:

I like the location that's all.

Cons:

Not friendly staff and no apologies from staff after double charging my card. Bought and paid the parking and then sold to somebody else.I ended up came back with no parking at night. Very disappointed. Look like the staff not interested in working.

Underwhelming and disappointing
Pros:

Cons:

Unprofessional and unresponsive staff who just didn't care
The hotel is in a state of disrepair. We were locked out of the bathroom due to the faulty door; the staff were initially unresponsive to our requests to get a maintenance person in to repair the door.

Pleasant enough stay
Pros:

Staff were polite. The bed was comfy. Room had a fridge which was a bonus. Room and bathroom was clean.

Cons:

If you get a room next or close to the lift. When the lift is operational it make a loud noise.

The hotel is near a lot of bars so was quite noisy at night.

Comfort and convenience

I liked how helpful the staff were and how clean and comfortable the room was. Also, the central location meant it was easy to walk to the theatre and cafes.

The facility is a bit tired but it's a grand old hotel.
